Agrium Inc. is moving James Grossett into the executive office.
The Calgary-based company (AGU-TSX; AGU-NYSE) has hired Grossett as vice-president of human resources. He will replace Michael Klein, who retires June 21.
Grossett is a former senior VP of human resources for Molson Inc. and prior to that held a similar role for Coca-Cola Beverages, Ltd.
Also joining the company is Garnet Amundson, who takes on the position of vice-president and controller. He succeeds Ian Hornby-Smith, who retired earlier this month.
Amundson was previously director of finance integration for Burlington Resources Canada Inc. and before that was controller at Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd.

Peter F. Adams has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Churchill Corporation.
He replaces Stanton K. Hooper who, while re-elected to the board, decided not to stand for re-election as chairman.
Adams has served on the Churchill board since 1993. He is currently president and managing director of the Canadian Petroleum Institute.

Calgary-based Ventus Energy Ltd. is making changes at the senior level.
Thomas Stan joins Ventus (VTU-TSX) as vice-president and chief financial officer. He most recently served as chairman and chief executive officer of Total Energy Services Ltd., but has held senior roles with a number of different energy companies.
Also joining Ventus as senior facilities engineer is Garry Moyes. Previously, he was Alberta production superintendent (facilities, production and operations engineer).

There’s been a change at the top of RareMethod Capital Corp.
Molly Mak has resigned as president to focus her efforts as president of 419962 Alberta Ltd., operating as Onward Computer Systems.
Roger Jewett, currently a RareMethod director and CFO, has assumed the roles of RareMethod’s president and CEO.

Jasomi Networks has hired Johnson Wu as vice-president of technical services. Wu was one of the original engineers of Cisco Systems, PIX Firewall and was a co-founder of Network Translation, the firm Cisco acquired in 1995 in order to bring PIX on board.
He has served as an advisor to numerous Silicon Valley companies and venture investment firms and most recently was in charge of design and implementation for Caw Networks’ award-winning WebAvalanche and WebReflector capacity assessment products.
