The bosses of the Winnipeg and Saskatoon airports have landed in the top two spots at an association representing the nation's airports. Barry Rempel, president and CEO of the Winnipeg Airports Authority, has been elected to chair the Canadian Airports Council for the next two years. William Restall, president and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority, has been elected vice-chair. Rempel replaces Jim Cherry, who remains on the CAC board.

Rempel has been president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority and on the CAC board since 2002. He has spent some 30 years in the Canadian aviation industry. Restall, a 34-year veteran of the air transportation industry, became president and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority in 1999. The Canadian Airports Council represents more than 180 airports and has its office in Ottawa.

HudBay Minerals Inc. (TSX:HBM) has appointed Maura Lendon to the position of vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Before joining HudBay, she was chief counsel and chief privacy officer for Canada at AT&T. Brian Gordon has stepped down as VP and general counsel to pursue other opportunities. HudBay is an integrated mining company with operations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New York state. Its head office is in Winnipeg.
