In a Canadian first, Eveline Charles, CEO of EvelineCharles Salons•Spas, has been named to the board of directors for The Salon Association (TSA).
TSA is comprised of 2,600 members in Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico. Charles is the first Canadian to be asked to sit as a board member for TSA.
The Salon Association, headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., is a non-profit association focused on the business of owning and operating salons with employees.
EvelineCharles Salons•Spas, a personal-care destination with two locations in Edmonton, is projecting future expansion to Calgary and Phoenix within the next year.
Robert J. (Bob) Schurer is the new vice-president of sales and marketing for Red Deer-based Collicutt Hanover.
Schurer, who assumed his new role last week, has more than 30 years of sales and executive positions in the province’s oil and gas sector.
Most recently, he was vice-president of operations with a large oil and gas facility engineering firm, but has also worked as a marketing consultant helping develop business planning, corporate strategy and market studies.
Schurer will assume responsibility for the development of all marketing and sales functions, and assist with strategic planning.
Established in 1986, Collicutt Hanover (COH-TSE) fabricates and services natural gas compression and power generation equipment in 11 Canadian centres.
Gaantek Consulting Inc. has added new faces to its Calgary office. Trevor Hawrysh, formerly of Burntsand, joins the company as director of application development. He will put his global expertise in web development to work with the company’s Calgary customers. As well, Lisa Lungul, a recent arrival from Vancouver, has been named Gaantek’s consultant liaison.
Gaantek provides web development expertise to professionals in the Calgary marketplace.
David Smiddy has resigned as the vice-president (finance), chief financial officer and corporate secretary of Pulse Data Inc.
The resignation is effective Jan. 31.

Clemons has an extensive career in international business management and sales for technology companies. Prior to alterna, J.R. was VP, sales with Consonus, an infrastructure provider of data centres and monitored applications.
