The Alberta Chambers of Commerce has unveiled its executive committee for the 2002/2003 term.

Fort McMurray’s Jason Reimer will serve as president of the association and Calgarian Irene Pfeiffer will be president-elect. Mark Lencucha of Lethbridge will serve as first vice-president and Edmonton’s Darrell Tomas is the new second vice-president. Treasurer is Murray Hales of Leduc. Camrose’s Martin West moves to the position of past-president.

The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is a federation of 127 community-based chambers of commerce that represents more than 22,000 businesses.

The Propane Gas Association of Canada has put Robert (Bob) Cunningham in the managing director’s chair. He will oversee the association and four subsidiary corporations.

Cunningham has spent three decades in the energy sector, most recently as executive director of the Canadian Petroleum Safety Council.

Headquartered in Calgary, the Propane Gas Association serves 160 member companies that produce, transport and market propane, and manufacture and distribute propane-consuming appliances for sale around the world.

APF Energy of Calgary has named Christian Buck to the post of vice-president of exploration. Buck, who has been exploration manager since joining the company in 1998, will continue to lead APF’s geological and geophysical team. APF (AY.UN-TSX) is the operating affiliate of APF Energy Trust, a conventional oil and gas income fund.

Calgary-based Provident Energy Trust has made some appointments at the senior level. Mark Walker has been named vice-president of finance and chief financial officer. Cameron Vouri is the new vice-president of production operations. Provident Energy Trust (PVE.UN-TSX; PVX-AMEX) is a Calgary-based oil and gas trust.

Gary Wooldridge is the new executive vice-president and CFO of Edmonton-based Rentcash Inc. (RCS-TSX Venture).

An owner of Wooldridge & Company chartered accountants since 1986, Wooldridge will replace L. James Hendry, who has resigned.

Rentcash Inc. operates a combined business that rents furniture, household appliances, electronics and computers, and provides payday cash-advance services to income-earning customers.

The Rainbow Group of Companies Incorporated has appointed Harold Kunik as CFO. He replaces Margo Kaufmann, who has been appointed executive vice-president of corporate development.

Kunik joins Rainbow with 19 years of international business experience. Currently, he acts as an adviser to companies in the manufacturing and technology sector.

Rainbow (RBP-TSX Venture) is a public technology commercialization company.

Stephen B. Soules has been appointed CFO effective immediately. He replaces Donald R. Gardner, who has retired.

Phil Ponting has been appointed chair of the Banff Centre board of governors. He replaces Margot Kitchen, who served for three years as chair.

Ponting, a Calgary lawyer, was first appointed to the board in 1997. He has served in numerous executive arts positions in Alberta.

The Banff Centre is a post-secondary institution dedicated to the arts, leadership development and mountain culture.
