Chris Gaffney, a VP and one of the senior members of the company's legal department, and Dave Ellis, the chief operations officer, were both nearing the end of five-year contracts.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K) has appointed Geoffrey Gold as senior VP and chief legal officer. Gold joins Kinross from Placer Dome, where he was most recently VP and associate general counsel.
This appointment follows the retirement of executive VP John Ivany, who had been with Kinross since 1995.

Nortel also named Lauren Flaherty as chief marketing officer, effective May 1. Flaherty most recently served as IBM's VP of worldwide marketing for small and medium business.
