Dan Allan is the new vice-president, CBM division, of APF Energy of Calgary.

Allan is the founder, president and CEO of CanScot Resources, which was acquired by APF late last month. He will be responsible for developing coalbed methane production and reserves for APF.

As well, Stephen Rosenstein has been appointed manager of the CBM division. The two geologists have more than 55 years of combined industry experience in Canada and the United States.

Edmonton-based SEAIR Inc. (SDS-TSXV) has named Michael Fekete as chief financial officer.

He replaces Harold Kinasewich, who will work in marketing and selling the Seair Nutrient Diffusion systems and related technology. He remains the company’s chief operating officer.

SEAIR is engaged in the development, manufacture and sales of its proprietary diffusion and sterilization technologies, with applications in various industries throughout North America and overseas.

Nicole Pointon has joined Calgary-based Sass Communications Inc. as an account executive.

Prior to joining the public relations firm, Pointon worked as a Toronto-based publicist for international publishers Random House of Canada, Doubleday Canada and Scholastic Canada.

She also spent two years as a public relations associate at the University of Toronto.

Two-year-old Sass Communications specializes in media relations campaigns with clients including the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association, Chinook Centre, Creative Restaurants, ENMAX Energy Corporation and the Hyatt Regency Calgary.

Calgary businessman Edmund Oliverio has been elected vice-president of the Association of Canadian Clubs, a 110-year-old group representing Canadian Clubs across the country and overseas.

Oliverio, a director of the Canadian Club in Calgary, was elected to the two-year post at the association’s annual meeting earlier this month. He replaces outgoing president Flora Macdonald.

The longtime Calgary publicist is president of the Alberta Recording Industries Association He is the first Western Canadian to sit on the volunteer board of directors in more than 20 years.

The Canadian Club promotes Canadian identity and encourages unity with luncheons and workshops across the country.
