David Aldrich is joining the Alberta College of Art and Design in January as its new academic vice-president.
In his position, Aldrich will provide overall academic leadership to ACAD. The VP-designate is currently dean of design at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Wireless product provider Wi-LAN of Calgary has appointed two new vice- presidents to drive growth.
Chris Beadle started as Wi-LAN’s vice-president of global sales on Oct. 12, and John Seliga becomes Wi-LAN’s vice-president of marketing on Oct. 15.
Drilcorp Energy Ltd. (TSXV: DCL) has appointed Bruce Ryan as its new chief financial officer. He replaces Bob Wilson, who has retired.
Ryan has been involved in the oil and gas industry since 1985, serving in senior finance, corporate secretary and directorship roles with reporting issuers listed on the TSX.
CanAustra Resources Inc. (TSXV:CTA) has named a new vice-president of exploration.
Mark Dugmore is a senior geologist with more than 20 years of experience in the minerals exploration/mining industry, having previously worked for BHP Minerals for 17 years.
Dugmore is actively engaged in generating gold exploration projects for the company.
Art Lemay, president of Westmark Products Ltd. of Acheson is the new Alberta Forest Products Assoc. (AFPA) president for the 2004-2005 year.
His appointment, and the board of directors election, took place at AFPA’s recent annual general meeting.
Lemay is the first secondary manufacturing representative to serve as association president.
RSX Energy Inc. (TSXV:RSX) has made a number of staff appointments.
Mike Charles is now VP, land. He has more than 22 years of oil and gas experience and was recently VP of land and business development at a junior oil and gas company.
Wayne Fast becomes VP, operations. He has more than 33 years of operations experience, most recently as VP, operations for Foothills Oil and Gas Ltd.
Daryl Zemek has been appointed controller. Zemek has more than 30 years of experience in joint-venture accounting, finance and audit.
Howard Oudman is joining AVAC Ltd. as investment manager. He will assist AVAC clients in managing their businesses from concept to commercial success.
Previously, Oudman operated a consulting company that assists entrepreneurs with business and strategic planning.
AVAC’s mission is to build the economic viability of Alberta’s agrivalue and resource ventures.
