Art in Motion Income Fund (TSX:AIM.UN) says Halifax-based Clarke Inc. (TSX:CKI) is making a formal takeover bid to buy the rest of the company it doesn't already own. The announcement came hours after Vancouver-based art reproductions income trust announced CEO Larry Sullivan is leaving the company, two months after signing a new employment contract. He was replaced by chief financial officer Allan Achtemichuk. Art In Motion said its trustees "accepted Mr. Sullivan's resignation" and are seeking a new CFO.
Canarc Resource Corp. (TSX:CCM) has promoted Garry Biles, P.Eng., to president and chief operating officer. Biles, previously Canarc's VP of mining, replaces Bruce Bried, who has retired but will sit on the board of directors. Canarc is a gold company focused on its New Polaris mine in B.C. and acquiring projects in the western U.S.A. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Urodynamix Technologies Ltd. (TSXV:URO) has appointed Greg Gauthier as VP of business development. Gauthier comes with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Urodynamix is a Vancouver-based medical device company developing non-invasive technology using near-infrared spectroscopy.
Epic Data International Inc. (TSXV:EKD) has named Alex Sventitsky to the position of VP of sales. Prior to joining Epic Data, Sventitsky was director of global strategic sales at Invensys Wonderware. Epic Data provides automated data-collection services for the extended enterprise. Its head office is in Richmond.
NWT Uranium Corp. (TSXV:NWT) says that its president and CEO, Marek Kreczmer, and CFO William Thomas are resigning July 30 to pursue other opportunities. Company director John Lynch has been named the new president and CEO. NWT Uranium is a resource exploration company focused on potential uranium targets. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Paragon Minerals Corp. (TSXV:PGR) has hired Bruce Mitton, P.Geo., in the position of VP of exploration and Tom Wilson, CA, in the part-time position of CFO. Most recently, Mitton was the exploration manager for a junior resource company in Newfoundland. Wilson is the founding partner of CWA Consulting Inc. and replaces Robert Lewis, who has resigned. Paragon is a Vancouver-based mineral exploration company focused on gold and base-metal exploration in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Lions Gate Marketing (LGM) has engaged Randy Price as president effective July 2, replacing Adam Hill who remains as the CEO and owner of LGM. Price previously spent more than 13 years with Reynolds and Reynolds Canada Ltd. Founded in 1998, LGM supplies extended warranty, credit insurance and theft-deterrent products for the automotive and RV industries. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.
Evolving Gold Corp. (TSXV:EVG) has appointed Vitaly Melnikov as CFO. He replaces interim CFO Herrick Lau. Melnikov recently served as VP of finance and administration of UrAsia Energy Ltd. before its takeover by Uranium One. Evolving Gold is actively exploring nine separate gold properties, primarily in Nevada. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Photon Control Inc. (TSXV:PHO) has named Michael Weston as interim president. He replaces Robert Blair, who has resigned as chairman and president for health reasons but will continue as a board member and significant shareholder. Ivan Melnyk has stepped down as acting president and as a director and will continue as senior VP and chief technology officer. Based in Burnaby, Photon manufactures optoelectronic products for measurement and control.
Finning International Inc. (TSX:FTT) says David Parker, currently senior VP for Finning (Canada), has been promoted to president of Finning (Canada). He is a 10-year veteran of the company. Parker replaces Ian Reid, who is taking early retirement but will be available on a consultative basis after Sept. 1. Finning (Canada) operates the Caterpillar dealership business in Western Canada. Headquartered in Vancouver, Finning International is the world's largest Caterpillar equipment dealer.
Magellan Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:MNM) has hired Leonard Karr, P.Geo., as VP of exploration.
Karr comes with 28 years of experience in exploration and production. He replaces Dennis Moore, who becomes VP of business development.
Magellan is a recently listed mineral exploration company with a principal focus on gold in northern Brazil. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Brian Collins has joined Intrawest ULC as president. Collins was most recently the principal and founder of Colgate Development LLC. Intrawest has interests in 10 North Åmerican mountain resorts, including Whistler Blackcomb. The Vancouver company also develops real estate across North America and in Europe.
Castle Gold Corp. (TSXVE:CSG) has engaged Thomas Atkins as president, CEO and a director, the only management member of the newly restructured board. Atkins was most recently president and CEO of Crowflight Minerals Inc. Castle Gold is expanding gold production within the Americas. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Evergreen Gaming (TSXV:TNA) has named Mike Stoddard as VP of Alberta operations. Stoddard's most recent appointment was as general manager of the Deerfoot Inn Casino in Calgary. Evergreen Gaming is a Richmond-based casino and hospitality company.
Longview Capital Partners Inc. (TSX: LV) says Shaun Maskerine, VP of investment banking, has resigned to pursue other interests. Vancouver-based Longview provides investment services to private companies.
Byron Loewen is retiring as chairman, CEO and a director of Altek Power Corp. (TSXV:APK). Kelowna-based Altek is an independent power producer and manufacturer of distributed generation plants.
Darren Bahrey has become the new president of Oro Silver Resources Ltd. (TSXV:OSR) and will step down as chairman of the board. Herve Thiboutot will take over responsibilities as CEO while remaining VP of exploration. Brian Fowler will remain as a director but will step down as VP of corporate development. Oro is a Vancouver-based silver exploration company focused on the Western Hemisphere.
Vangold Resources Ltd. (TSXV:VAN) has appointed Danae Voormeij as VP of exploration.
Vancouver-based Vangold has extensive international mineral exploration projects.
