Paul Haggis, president and CEO of Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB), has resigned to accept a position with a public company whose name was not disclosed. Haggis will be leaving ATB on Dec. 31.

The ATB board of directors is reviewing a number of succession options and an announcement will be made soon to ensure a smooth transition, ATB said.

ATB, an Alberta-based financial institution, serves 240 communities through a network of 145 branches, 131 agencies and 222 automated banking machines.

George Campbell has left one of the top chairs at Welwyn Energy Ltd. The director, COO and CFO of the Calgary-based oil and gas firm has retired, and Senai Kozak has been appointed as his replacement.

Kozak has been providing consulting services to Welwyn for the past few years.

PrimeWest Energy Trust has appointed Dennis Feuchuk as vice-president finance and CFO of PrimeWest Energy Inc.

Feuchuk spent 26 years with Gulf Canada Resources Limited in various financial and accounting capacities, most recently as the VP and controller for Gulf Canada Resources, and VP and treasurer for Athabasca Oil Sands Trust.

Feuchuk replaces Susan Duncan, who will be leaving PrimeWest following a transition period.

PrimeWest is a conventional oil and gas royalty trust that acquires, develops, produces and sells crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids for the generation of cash distributions to unitholders.

Colin Cohen is taking the CFO post at Alterna Technologies Group Inc., moving from his job as senior vice-president and CFO of OneSoft Corporation.

Cohen, who holds an MA in law and economics and a BA from Cambridge University, has also worked with The Fairchild Corporation, and from 1986 to 1996 was a managing director with Citicorp Securities Inc.

Alterna, a privately held company based in Calgary with offices in the U.S. and Europe, provides e-finance solutions.
