Dan MacLennan, president of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees, is leaving after nine years at AUPE's helm for a position in the private sector.

AUPE will hold a byelection to replace him during its 30th annual convention in Edmonton at the end of October.

MacLennan is joining Bechtel Corp. subsidiary Bantrel Co., which is based in Calgary with offices in Edmonton and Toronto, as a senior international recruitment manager.

Nick Hurst has been promoted to the position of vice-president of the Equicom Group Inc.'s Calgary office.

Hurst joined Equicom in 2001 and has worked with companies in the technology, resource and life science sectors.

The Equicom Group provides investor relations and financial communications services from three offices in Canada.

TRLabs has promoted Jeff Rohne, a technology industry veteran, as VP of administration.

Rohne, who joined TRLabs in 2004, will retain the title of director Manitoba operations.

TRLabs creates innovative technologies and trains students in the ICT field from labs in Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.

CCR Technologies Ltd. (TSX:CRL) has appointed Thomas Coyne as its new vice-president of corporate development and chief financial officer.

Coyne brings more than 20 years of experience in international finance and corporate development. He replaces former CFO Peter Kinash, who has left the company.

Calgary-based CCR is focused on the purification of process chemicals and sweetening of sour gas through proprietary technologies.

Gordon Green is joining Wood Composite Technologies Inc. (TSXV:WCT) as CFO.

Green was previously the VP of O.E.M Remanufacturing Inc.

In other company news, Darryl Senior has resigned as the controller and interim CFO of Wood Composite.

Wood Composite is a Nisku-based junior industrial company focused on the development, manufacture and sale of alternative composite building materials.

Cordy Oilfield Services Inc. (TSXV:CKK) has appointed David Mullen as its chief executive officer. Mullen has been Cordy's chairman of the board, a role he will retain.

Sid Dutchak, who had been serving as president and CEO, will continue as president.

Mullen comes from the Mullen Group of companies, where he was most recently VP and business unit leader of Mullen Trucking L.P. The group says Mullen has agreed to make himself available through December of this year on a consulting basis and thereafter as the need arises.

Calgary-based Cordy owns businesses in the oilfield services and construction sectors.

Zi Corp. (TSX:ZIC, NASDAQ:ZICA) has named veteran finance and operations executive Blair Mullin as interim chief financial officer while a search for a permanent CFO is under way.

Calgary-based Zi provides interface software that enhances the user experience of wireless and consumer technologies.

CSI Wireless Inc. (TSX:CSY) has appointed Steven Koles as the company's president and CEO, following its transition into a purely GPS-focused business.

Koles was most recently VP and general manager at AOL Canada Inc.

With Koles' appointment, Michael Lang relinquishes the position of interim CEO and remains chairman of the board, while Cameron Olson relinquishes his title of interim president and remains CSI's CFO.

CSI Wireless designs and manufactures GPS products for the agriculture, marine and other markets. Its head office is in Calgary.

Wireless Edge Canada Inc., a provider of next-generation data networking services, has expanded its management team.

Philip Gee has been appointed CEO. He has more than 20 years of experience as a wireless, networking and security technology executive.

Wireless Edge has also hired Mike Williams as its VP of sales and marketing, and Mark Boulton-Mills as director of customer management.

Williams comes from SafeNet Canada, where he was VP of business development. Boulton-Mills comes from WestJet Airlines where he was the director of information technology/chief architect.

Privately owned Wireless Edge has its corporate office in Calgary.

The company says Pierce, a CA, has more than a decade of experience in senior financial positions with both private and publicly traded companies.

Patti Connolly has been appointed manager of employee engagement at Capital City Savings in Edmonton. In this newly created position, Connolly is responsible for looking at ways to attract and retain talent.

Prior to CodeBaby, Gebauer served as chief marketing officer at imForwards.

Liquidation World Inc. (TSX:LQW) has named Darryl Chenoweth to the newly created position of senior VP of real estate and development.

Chenoweth, who will focus on expanding company outlets, comes with a 20-year background in the retail sector. He will be based in Liquidation World's Brantford, Ont., office.

Enbridge Income Fund (TSX:ENF.UN) has made changes to the senior management of Enbridge Management Services Inc. (EMSI), the entity that administers the affairs of the fund.

Jim Schultz has become president of EMSI, replacing Stephen Wuori, who remains a trustee of Enbridge Commercial Trust. Schultz is also senior VP of new ventures for Enbridge Inc., and prior to assuming his new duties with the fund was president of Enbridge Gas Distribution.

John Whelen has become VP of business development and chief financial officer for EMSI, replacing Leigh Cruess who has taken on a new role with Enbridge Inc.

Northern Property REIT (NPR.UN) says its CFO, Debra Boyle, plans to retire on April 30, 2007. She has been CFO of the REIT since its inception in 2002.

Todd Cook, CA, will join Northern Property in November and will assume CFO duties May 1, 2007. Cook was previously CFO of TGS North American REIT.
