Axia NetMedia Corp. (TSX:AXX) has a new president. The company says Geoff Thompson joins Axia as part of a planned transition that sees former president Murray Wallace resume his role as an adviser on strategic and acquisition activities. Wallace will spend most of his time on his other business interests.
Thompson most recently was CEO and president of Control-F1 Corp.
Calgary-based Axia provides managed next-generation IP network services.
Solana Resources Ltd. (TSXV: SOR), a Colombia-focused independent oil and gas exploration and production company, has appointed Ricardo Montes Gomez as acting CFO, replacing Scott Hamilton. Montes Gomez worked most recently with Shell Exploration and Production Co. in Houston.
Gomez will be based with the CEO in Bogota, and will divide his time between there and the corporate HQ in Calgary.
Crossfire Holdings Inc. (TSXV:CFE) has appointed Scott Hamilton as chief financial officer of Crossfire Energy Services. Hamilton, a chartered accountant, brings nearly 20 years of financial and administrative experience. Crossfire Energy Services is a provider of oilfield facilities including design, fabrication and construction. Its corporate office is in Calgary.
The Churchill Corp. (TSX:CUQ) of Edmonton has named Kelly Smith as president and chief operating officer of its wholly owned subsidiary Triton Projects Inc. He replaces former president Danny Daoust. Smith recently concluded a 20-year tenure as president and general manager of a manufacturing and oilfield service company. Triton provides heavy-industrial general contracting, fabrication and maintenance services to resource and industrial clients.
Stylus Energy Inc. (TSX:STY) has made two executive promotions. Warren Pearson becomes vice-president of exploration and Bruce Wilkins the VP of development. Within the company's engineering group, Michael Dupont has been appointed as manager of engineering and Mark Woods has been promoted to manager of operations. Stylus is a Calgary-based junior oil and natural gas company with operations in Alberta.
United Protection Security Group Inc. (TSXV:UZZ) has added Jeff Young to its management team as VP of business development. Young comes from Rentokil Initial Canada Ltd. where he held the position of VP (Canada) of business development. United is a security protection company based in Edmonton.
Oromonte Resources Inc. (TSXV:ORR) of Calgary says Peter Barker and Peter McLean, formerly company CEO and CFO, respectively, are no longer associated with Oromonte.
Recently appointed president Burkhard Franz assumes responsibilities in the interim for these offices while the company reviews its staffing requirements.
Oromonte is a junior miner focused on gold exploration and development in southern Ecuador.
Dual Exploration Inc. (TSX:DLX) has hired Warren Coles as CFO.
Prior to joining Dual, Coles was CFO of Deep Resources Ltd.
Calgary-based Dual is a junior oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and production of natural gas and oil reserves in Western Canada.
Triton Energy Corp. (TSX:TEZ) has appointed Brian Cumming, P.Eng., as VP of engineering. Cumming has more than 29 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Canada, most recently as a consultant to the industry. Triton has also appointed Gordon Bakarich, P.Eng., to the position of operations manager. Prior to joining Triton, Bakarich was operations manager at Blue Mountain Energy Ltd.
Triton is a Calgary-based company engaged in the exploration, development and production of petroleum and natural gas.
Eugene (Gene) Fabro has assumed the role of president of Assured Developments in addition to his current role as CEO.
Fabro replaces former president and COO Joe Fras, who has left for a new business opportunity. Calgary-based Assured is a residential builder currently focused on the development of two sites in Canmore and various projects in Calgary, Okotoks and Cochrane.
