Business leader and former federal cabinet minister Perrin Beatty is leaving the presidency of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) to take the same post at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Beatty succeeds Nancy Hughes Anthony as head of the Canadian chamber. Beatty has been president and CEO of the CME since 1999.
The Canadian C of C represents more than 170,000 members from all sectors of the economy and from all regions of the country.
Macro Enterprises Inc. (TSXV:MCR) has appointed Norman Rokosh as CEO and president. He replaces Frank Miles, who was acting in an interim capacity.
Most recently, Rokosh served as president and CEO of The Churchill Corp.
Macro Enterprises specializes in pipeline and facility construction and maintenance. Its head office is in Fort St. John.
Condor Resources Inc. (TSXV:CN) has appointed Ever Marquez as its vice-president of exploration. Marquez joins Condor from Newmont Peru Ltd.
Based in Vancouver, Condor has exploration projects in Latin America.
Infowave Software (TSX:IW), a provider of enterprise mobile applications, has promoted Richard Hoy, former EVP of sales to company president and interim CEO.
He replaces James Suttie, who announced his resignation last month for personal health reasons.
The company also promoted Paul Townsend to VP of technology and product development. Townsend joined Infowave in May 2003 as VP of development. His duties have been expanded to include certain of those previously done by Claudia Ng, SVP of products and services, who recently left the company.
Infowave is headquartered in Burnaby.
IRI Separation Technologies Inc. (TSXV:IRI) has hired Ron Bayne as chief marketing officer.
The company says Bayne comes with more than 40 years of experience in marketing packaged goods to pharmacies.
IRI is a West Vancouver-based biotech company that develops antibodies for virus- and bacteria-related health issues.
VRX Worldwide Inc. (TSXV:VRW) has appointed Wendy Rose as CFO and VP of operations for the company and its wholly owned subsidiary VRX Studios Inc.
Prior to joining VRX Worldwide, which produces and syndicates rich-media content for the online travel industry, Rose was VP of finance and operations at GaleForce Solutions.
VRX is headquartered in Vancouver.
Silver Standard Resources Inc. (TSX:SSO, Nasdaq:SSRI) has appointed George Paspalas as senior VP of operations. Paspalas's career includes 18 years in management positions with Placer Dome Inc.
Silver Standard is a Vancouver silver exploration and development company with projects in Argentina, Peru and Mexico.
