Bell Canada has reorganized its operations in Western Canada.

The company has appointed a single executive to oversee Alberta and British Columbia operations including Bell West, Bell Mobility and Bell World.

Paul Healey has been appointed president of Bell’s western operations. Healey, who will continue his role as head of wireless services in both provinces, replaces Randy Reynolds, who is retiring. Bell has offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and employs more than 1,500 people.

SignalGene Inc. has made several appointments at the top. The Calgary-based company, which recently acquired Blairmore Energy Ltd., has named David Meleshko as executive vice-president.

Meleshko is a former president of Blairmore Energy and prior to that held senior roles with Argo Energy Ltd and Zoom Energy Ltd.

As well, Gerard Dobek is the company’s new vice-president of exploration. He previously held the same position at Blairmore, Argo and Zoom Energy Ltd.

SignalGene has also named Gordon Timm as its vice-president of land. Timm held senior roles with Penn West Petroleum Ltd. and Rio Alto Exploration Ltd.

Steve Shields is the new managing partner for Edmonton of AGTI Consulting Services (West). Shields joined the company in January 2004 when AGTI acquired Edmonton-based Quantera Group.

He has more than 20 years of industry experience including roles with private and public sector organization.

AGTI provides business and IT consulting services with about 75 staff in Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver.

Golder Associates Ltd. of Calgary has hired Teresa Drew as senior noise specialist with its environmental assessment division. Drew specializes in environmental acoustics and has more than 15 years of consulting experience in a variety of sectors including the Sable Offshore Energy Project in Nova Scotia, Parmalat Canada in Montreal and the World Bank in Shanghai.

Golder Associates is a global group of consulting companies specializing in ground engineering and environmental science.

Andy St.Onge is the new vice-president of exploration for Virtus Energy (VEL-TSXV) of Calgary. St.Onge joins the company with more than 20 years of experience including senior positions at Upton Resources Inc., Chauvco Canada Resources, Mark Resources Inc. and Chevron Canada.
