Cancer drugmaker ViRexx Medical Corp. has hired Marc Canton to be its new president and chief operating officer.
Canton, whose last job was vice-president of Biovail subsidiary Nutravail Technologies Inc., will begin his new job Feb. 1.
Antoine Noujaim will retain the role of chairman of the board and CEO of ViRexx, the company said.
ViRexx is an Edmonton-based biotechnology company focused on the development of therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer and chronic viral infections.
Delphi Energy Corp. has added two members to its management team.
Michael Kaluza is the new vice-president of engineering. He worked most recently with Dominion Exploration and Production Inc.
Daniel Labelle is the manager of geology. Labelle has worked extensively in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.

Guest-Tek Interactive Entertainment Ltd. has hired Craig Snelgrove as its chief operating officer.
Snelgrove has worked for technology and service companies serving the hospitality, business and private-club markets for 18 years, most recently with a private services company. He takes over his new role on Jan. 31.

Technology company Westaim Corp. has named Nicolas Khoury as president of its subsidiary IFire Technology Corp.
Khoury takes over from Anthony Johnston, who will remain as a senior vice-president at Westaim and continue to play a senior role at IFire.
Prior to joining IFire - which makes flat-screen technology for use in televisions, monitors and other products - Khoury was president of OFS Fitel LLC, the fibreoptics division of the Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. of Japan.
Charles (Chuck) Jenkins has joined Metamedia Capital Corp. (TSXV:MME) as controller. The company says Jenkins has extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting and administration.
Metamedia is an Alberta company whose main product is a bilingual Greek-English business magazine.
Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. has made two appointments to help advance the company's limestone development in northeastern Alberta: Russ Gerrish to vice-president of engineering and operations, and Hansine Ullberg to vice-president of finance and chief financial officer.
Don Dabbs, Birch Mountain's CFO prior to Hansine's appointment, will continue as senior vice-president and director of the company.
