The chief operating officer at Calgary-based wireless tracking company Cell-Loc Inc. has stepped down, the company announced Friday.

John Krpan is moving into an advisory role, saying he wants to seek new challenges.

“Cell-Loc has been an amazing adventure,” Krpan said in a statement.

“I take tremendous satisfaction in the progress that the company made during the past year and I believe strongly in the business plan that guides Cell-Loc’s team of executives . . . . In short, the potential for me to add value to the process is not the same as it was during the past year.”

“John effected real change at a crucial time,” said Cell-Loc president Michel Fattouche.

“We appreciate all that he has done, and we look forward to a continued working relationship with him.”

A replacement has not been named.

Meanwhile, the company has announced that Sheldon Reid has been appointed to the position of executive vice-president, corporate and business development. Fattouche said Reid will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the company.
