Heather Douglas becomes the new president and CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 1.
She joins the chamber with more than 20 years of experience in journalism, public affairs, media, government and shareholder relations, crisis communications, and image and reputation management.
Most recently Douglas was executive director for the Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada.
Paul Crilly is joining Norex Exploration Services Inc. (TSXV:NRX) as president, chief financial officer and a director. Ben Berg, currently the president and chief executive officer, will remain as CEO and will be appointed as chairman of the board.
Most recently, Crilly, a chartered accountant, was president and CEO of Ram Cementers Inc.
Calgary-based Norex and its wholly owned subsidiary, Geophysical Applications Processing Services Ltd., provide 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition and processing services to the upstream resource industry.
Josh MacKenzie is the new managing director of ThoughtWorks Canada Corp. Most recently, he was the western U.S. regional director. MacKenzie, who joined ThoughtWorks in 1998, has more than 12 years of experience in technology consulting and management.
Geoff Oliphant will become director of operations.
ThoughtWorks provides custom software development services. The company entered the Canadian market in 2001 and operates from Calgary.
Ormed Information Systems of Edmonton has hired marketing and sales veteran Bob Lozeron as vice-president of business development.
Lozeron has been a consultant to Ormed since January. Ormed develops MIS software, with a focus on the health-care industry.
Calpine Canada Power Ltd., manager of the Calpine Power Income Fund (TSX:CF.UN), says VP and CFO Carol Mallabone has retired to pursue personal interests.
Until a new CFO is appointed, the duties of the CFO will be assumed on an interim basis by Lisa Winslow, manager of financial reporting.
Calpine Canada Power is headquartered in Calgary.
Calgary-based Synenco Energy Inc. has made three executive appointments.
Joining Synenco are Denise Hendrickson as general counsel and corporate secretary, Ed Oke as vice-president of human resources and Maxim Dufour as chief information officer.
Hendrickson was most recently employed as general counsel of the Alberta Securities Commission.
Oke's career includes senior-level positions in labour relations and human resources management.
Dufour has held a number of senior positions in industry.
Synenco, formed in 1999, is the managing partner of the Northern Lights Partnership, the developer of an integrated oilsands project.
UTS Energy Corp. has appointed a CFO and a corporate secretary.
New CFO Wayne Bobye has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Jina Abells, currently legal counsel, will expand her role to legal counsel and corporate secretary.
Calgary-based UTS Energy (TSX:UTS) is focused on the Fort Hills oilsands project.
Vault Energy Trust (TSX:VNG.UN) has made an executive appointment.
Mark Kuhn is the new vice-president of exploitation and business development. He will also be the corporate officer responsible for internal reserves management. Most recently Kuhn was VP of business development for Calpine Natural Gas Trust.
Calgary-based Vault is a conventional oil and gas income trust formed through the recent corporate reorganization of Chamaelo Energy Inc.
