Choice Resources Corp. has made two senior appointments.

Stephen Austin is the new vice-president and chief financial officer, while Dennis Forgeron takes on the post of vice-president of engineering and business development.

Austin has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has held senior financial positions in both private and public corporations including K2 Energy, Crown Joule Exploration Ltd. and Derrick Resources Ltd.

Forgeron brings more than 15 years of energy experience, both domestic and international, including roles with Gulf Canada and Chevron Canada. He also has owned and operated several small private oil and gas companies and has pursued wind-power development projects in the Pincher Creek area through Energreen Canada Corp.

Choice (CZE-TSXV) is an Alberta-based natural gas producer.

Five Calgary public relations professionals have been awarded their Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation by the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). The APR designation is a measure of professional experience and competence in the field of public relations.

The newest Calgary APRs are Dan Muys of Adculture Group Inc., Shirley Popadiuk of the corporate properties and buildings division at the City of Calgary, Del Simon of CBC Television in Calgary, Carmelle Stee of Livingstone Range School Division No. 68 and Peter Symons of Direct Energy Marketing Ltd.

CPRS Calgary has the highest concentration of APRs among CPRS member societies in Canada, with 49 of CPRS Calgary’s 140 members having accreditation.

Jan Johansson is joining Calgary-based Resverlogix as senior vice- president of clinical affairs.

Johansson is co-founder of ET Esperion Therapeutics, Inc., which was recently purchased by international pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. for $1.3 billion US.

Johansson has more than 16 years of experience as a practising physician in internal medicine, cardiology and preventative medicine, and 14 years of experience in academic medicine. Resverlogix is a biotechnology research and development company.

Krista Kerth and Sarah Ramsden have joined the team at Chase Advertising.

Kerth, most recently of Brown Communications Group in Regina, will be the company’s account co-ordinator.

Ramsden joins the company from Los Angeles and before that the United Kingdom, where she helped develop the world’s first fully interactive TV channel.
