The Churchill Corporation’s president and CEO, H. R. (Hank) Reid, is planning to retire next March 31 after 13 years in those positions.

In order to ensure a smooth transition, Churchill’s succession plan includes Reid being available as a consultant and remaining a member of the board of directors.

Gary R. Bardell will succeed Reid as president and CEO of Churchill. Bardell joined Stuart Olson Construction, Churchill’s largest subsidiary, in 1979 and progressed through positions of increasing responsibility in operations, business development and general management to become president and COO of Stuart Olson in 1997.

Al Stowkowy, senior VP of Stuart Olson since 1997, has been selected to succeed Bardell as president and COO of Stuart Olson. Stowkowy joined Stuart Olson in 1985.

Jason Randhawa is stepping down as president and CEO of Edmonton-based WavePOINT Systems Inc. (WVP-TSX Venture.)

His departure is part of ongoing restructuring as the company shifts its focus on the U.S. marketplace for its ADHD treatment program.

Randhawa will in a transitionary role until June 30.

The company, which provides non-pharmaceutical treatment options for Attention-Deficit /Hyperactivity Disorder, has begun recruiting a U.S.-based management team.

Swapan Kakumanu is the new chief financial officer for Quorum Information Technologies Inc.

Kakumanu, the company’s controller, is a chartered accountant with more than 10 years of related experience.

He joined the Calgary-based company (QIS-TSX Venture) in 2000 when it acquired Shield Network and Computer Services Ltd.

Tom Stan has resigned as chairman and chief executive officer of Total Energy. Stan will pursue other opportunities in the oil and gas exploration and production industry, but will remain on the board of directors.

He will be replaced by Daniel Halyk, a founding director of the Calgary-based energy firm. Halyk was previously interim president and CEO of the company.

Flowing Energy Corporation of Calgary has appointed Paul Poscente as vice-president, exploration. Poscente has nearly 20 years of experience as a geologist focusing on a variety of plays in Western Canada, especially in central Alberta.

Prior to joining Flowing, Poscente was an area geological manager for Paramount Resources Ltd.

Nevis Energy Services Ltd. of Calgary has named Jim Anderson to the position of senior account manager. Anderson, who has more than 30 years of oilpatch experience, was most recently at Baker Hughes.

Williams is the former GM of Trimac Logistics Ltd.

A former Alberta government energy executive has joined the board of directors of Calgary-based Canada Southern Petroleum Ltd.

Myron Kanik has been elected to fill a vacancy left by Ben Anderson in January. Kanik is a former deputy minister of Alberta Energy and has also held senior roles with Chevron and the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association.
