The world markets division of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (TSX:CM) is adding two senior executives in a reorganization, while deputy chairman David Leith "has elected to leave the firm.”

Leith, who was also head of investment, corporate and merchant banking, had spent more than 25 years with CIBC World Markets. Joining as managing director of investment banking is Geoffrey Belsher, formerly managing director of Lehman Brothers Canada. Corporate credit activities will be headed by Laura Dottori-Attanasio, formerly chief risk officer at National Bank of Canada. CIBC's head office is in Toronto.

Victory Nickel Inc. (TSX:NI) says that Alison Sutcliffe is now VP of finance and CFO, replacing the retiring Robert Wardell. Sutcliffe was formerly NI's controller. Victory Nickel is focused on becoming a mid-tier nickel producer. Its head office is in Toronto.

Ida Goodreau has been named chief executive of laboratory services company LifeLabs, effective March 1. Goodreau is taking the job after spending about six years as president and chief executive of Vancouver Coastal Health. LifeLabs is a division of Borealis Infrastructure Management Inc., an investment unit of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, or OMERS.

Belzberg Technologies Inc. (TSX:BLZ) says that Chris Jackson has joined the company as president of Canadian operations. Jackson comes to Belzberg from Perimeter Financial, where he was managing director of Perimeter Markets Inc. Belzberg provides brokerage services, equities trading and options through Electronic Brokerage Systems, its wholly owned entity. Its head office is in Toronto.

Kingsway Financial Services Inc. (TSX, NYSE:KFS) has promoted Colin Simpson to senior VP and COO.

Simpson had been senior VP and chief strategy officer. Kingsway is a non-standard automobile and truck insurer operating through 11 wholly owned insurance subsidiaries in Canada and the U.S. Its head office is in Mississauga.

GlobeStar Mining Corp. (TSX:GMI) says Eric Olson is now senior VP and COO, as former COO Jean-Pierre Chauvin has retired. Olson has been with GlobeStar since 2006. GlobeStar also says that CFO Dave Massola will also assume the position of senior VP of finance. GMI produces copper, gold and silver at its mine in the Dominican Republic. Its head office is in Toronto.

Hanfeng Evergreen Inc. (TSX:HF) says it has appointed Tony Busseri as executive VP. Busseri most recently was a principal of Growth Equity Partners. Hanfeng produces slow- and controlled-release fertilizers in China. All production facilities are located in China while head office is in Toronto.

GeneNews Ltd. (TSX:GEN) of Richmond Hill says that Colin West has retired as CFO, VP of finance and treasurer. Sonny Young, CA, has been named VP of finance and treasurer, and West will assist with the transition through March. Young has been a financial consultant to GeneNews since last April. GeneNews is focused on early diagnosis and personalized therapeutics based on disease-specific biomarkers.

Novadaq Technologies Inc. (TSX:NDQ) says it has made senior management changes and finished cutting 25 staff in a strategic restructuring. Shane Ellis, the VP of legal affairs and corporate secretary, is leaving and will not be replaced. CFO John Reidy is also leaving, to be succeeded by Stephen Purcell, currently director of finance. Novadaq develops and commercializes real-time imaging and image guidance systems for use in the operating room. Its corporate office is in Mississauga.

Humber Capital Corp. (TSXV: RUM) will have its first full-time CFO as of Feb. 9. Tracey Bean will assume the role from Brian Luborsky, who has been the interim CFO. Luborsky was a seed shareholder of the predecessor Capital Pool Corp. and held this position prior to the qualifying transaction. He will remain as a director of Humber. Bean was previously employed by the TD Bank for 15 years. Toronto-based Humber owns all of Andersons Liquor Inc., which owns and operates private liquor stores in Alberta.

Steve Mykolyn, executive creative director of Taxi Calgary and Taxi Toronto, has been promoted to chief creative officer. The agency's co-founder, Paul Lavoie, remains chairman. Darren Clarke succeeds Mykolyn as executive creative director at Taxi Toronto. Clarke joined the agency as a creative director last October.
