Western Canadian Coal Corp. (WCCC) has made some management changes.

John Hogg has been appointed as vice-president and chief operating officer. Most recently he was VP and general manager of Westshore Terminals Ltd.

Charles Pitcher and Kevin James have resigned as COO and vice-president of exploration, respectively. The two will continue to work with the company (TSXV:WTN) in a consulting capacity.

WCCC currently has more than 250 million tonnes of coal under exploration and development planning in British Columbia.

Rick Smith has joined Tekton Creative as multimedia project manager. Smith has held management positions for professional organizations and has worked in various freelance positions.

Tekton is a Vancouver-based creative studio specializing in strategic communications design, branding and advertising.

has appointed Neil Chan to the newly created position of senior vice-president of business development.

Most recently, Chan served as the founding executive and VP of global accounts for Airvana, Inc. He also chairs several private networking and application software companies.

The Greater Victoria Hospitals Foundation board of directors has a new executive.

Leslee Farrell, a realtor with Newport Realty, assumes the role of chair for the 2004-05 term.

Gary Wilson, vice-president of government relations at Telus, steps into the role of vice-chair Rob Edwards, senior client advisor with RBC Financial Group, will serve on the executive as secretary.

Rounding out the executive is Walter Creed, partner with Grant Thornton, as treasurer.

The Greater Victoria Hospitals Foundation supports excellence in patient care at Vancouver Island’s largest acute-care hospitals, the Royal Jubilee and Victoria General.

Lee Parsons is the new executive chef in the Wedgwood Hotel’s Bacchus kitchen. Parsons was formerly executive chef of the Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.

Jo Surich has assumed the role of president for PresiNET Systems Corp. His initial focus will be on managing PresiNET’s current growth in the United States and other foreign markets.

Most recently Surich was a partner at Sierra Systems Group.

Founded in 1999, PresiNET provides Internet business intelligence, security and performance technologies.

Brian McEwen was previously the VP of exploration for the company.

Jonathan George, the immediate past president, will remain as director.

Dynasty is a Canadian-based junior resource company focused on acquiring, exploring and developing gold prospects in China.

Dan Eisner has been elected as the new president of the Alzheimer Society of B.C., succeeding Vancouver realtor Sandy Riley. Eisner is a chartered accountant from Burnaby who works with Mercer Human Resource Consulting, and has been a volunteer with the society for more than nine years. Also elected to the board’s executive are first vice- president Nicole Bertrand, second VP Jeff Woodburn, treasurer Lorraine Barker and secretary Pat Furlong.
