Calgary-based EyeWire Inc., a provider of digital images, video, fonts and audio, has launched a do-it-yourself Web site for businesses to create their own professional-looking corporate materials and presentations.
Gettyworks.com, part of Getty Images Inc. of Seattle, will offer a wide variety of images from the industry’s top photographers and creative artists, presentation templates and step-by-step articles and tips. Small businesses and individuals will have access to more than 100,000 photos for $99 US a year.
The company says this venture is the first phase of EyeWire's business plan to build out its self-publishing arm. While they used to provide materials to graphic designers around the world through a catalogue, their business operates now almost entirely over the Internet.
“To date, well-designed business materials could typically be developed only by a select number of businesses due to high cost or limited design expertise,” Jonathan Klein, co-founder and chief executive officer of Getty Images, said in a statement.
“With gettyworks.com, we’re providing business professionals and communicators simple design solutions and high-quality images that are literally at their fingertips.”
Gettyworks.com will be managed from EyeWire’s Calgary office at 800, 833 4th Ave. S.W.
