Formed in 2000 to focus on platinum operations, Platinum Group is based in Vancouver and Johannesburg.

Vancouver-based junior Emgold Mining Corp. (TSXV:EMR) has appointed David Watkinson as the company’s president and COO, as the miner works to develop a California gold project.
In addition to his new job, Watkinson will continue as president and CEO of wholly owned subsidiary Idaho-Maryland Mining Co. Watkinson is a veteran engineer with years of experience in underground and open-pit mine development, Emgold said.
