Alex McPherson has stepped down after almost 15 years as president and CEO of Biomira Inc. (TSX:BRA), replaced on an interim basis by chief financial officer Edward Taylor.

Biomira said McPherson, 66, a former Alberta deputy minister of health, left the top job the day of the Edmonton cancer biotechnology company's annual meeting.

Taylor, a former forest industry executive who joined Biomira in May 1995, takes charge of a company that reported a net loss of $5.8 million in the January-March quarter on revenue of $380,000.

A global positioning systems researcher and the recipient of numerous teaching, research and leadership awards has been named dean of the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering.

Elizabeth Cannon takes over July 1.

She is currently professor and head of the Department of Geomatics Engineering.

Guest-Tek Interactive Entertainment Ltd. (TSX:GTK) is set to grow its channel business with a new appointment. Seth Glazer has been hired as VP of channel and multiple dwelling unit sales.

Prior to joining Guest-Tek, Glazer held managerial and sales positions with a number of technology scompanies.

Guest-Tek provides IP-based data, video and telephony services to the hospitality industry. The company's head offices are in Calgary.

The founder and chief executive officer of CSI Wireless Inc. (TSX:CSY) is leaving the GPS products maker.

CSI said Stephen Verhoeff has resigned as president, chief executive and director on the heels of a $9.2-million quarterly loss for the Calgary-based technology company.

Chairman Michael Lang becomes interim CEO while a successor to Verhoeff is sought, and chief financial officer Cameron Olson is interim president.

Calgary-based CSI recently sold its fixed wireless operation to focus on global positioning system products.

Karl Ruud, the company's COO, has also been appointed president. John Hlavka will continue in his capacity as CEO.

Peter Krause has resigned as the CFO of NX Capital Corp. to pursue other business interests. He leaves at the completion of a restructuring period for the company, which is now shopping itself to other companies as a publicly traded vehicle for their operations.

Barry Sadre-Hashemi has been appointed CFO. He brings experience in the banking, energy and telecom-services industries.

InterOil Corp. (TSX:IOL) has named Jack Hamilton as its new president, effective July 1.

Hamilton joins InterOil from Australia's Woodside Energy Ltd., where he was director of northwest shelf ventures.

InterOil is developing a vertically integrated energy company whose primary focus is Papua New Guinea and the surrounding region. Its offices are in Calgary and Texas.

Seventeen members of the Calgary office of Golder Associates Ltd. have been promoted to senior management roles.

Scott McKenzie, Louise Menard, Doug Pelly, Michael Raine and Robert van Wyngaarden have all been promoted to principal.

The Province of Alberta has a new CEO for the Natural Resources Conservation Board.

Peter Woloshyn was previously director of the agricultural research division for Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

The NRCB is responsible for regulating Alberta's confined feeding operations, and for reviewing proposed developments that affect Alberta's non-energy natural resources.

Zargon Energy Trust (TSX:ZAR.UN, ZOG.B) has made Hank Baird VP of exploitation effective June 1. Baird has more than 25 years of experience in reservoir engineering and acquisitions.
