Edmonton-based GotaCopy Inc. was voted best in class by investors and venture capital firms at the recent Banff Venture Forum.
The forum is a venue that unites early- and growth-stage firms with angel and venture capital from across Canada and abroad.
Of the hundreds of Canadian companies that apply to present at the forum, only 26 are selected to appear before the broad spectrum of venture capital (VC) firms. The VC firms then vote for the company that they would be most interested to invest in. GotaCopy has developed an enterprise print management application.
Another Edmonton company, QSV Biologics, Ltd., came away from the forum with $4.8 million in new venture financing. QSV attracted interest from Edmonton-based Almasa Capital Inc., lead investor in the funding agreement.
QSV Biologics provides contract manufacturing services to biopharmaceutical firms conducting pre-clinical research and clinical trials.
