Malcolm Cox has resigned as president, chief executive officer and director of Enerflex Systems Ltd.
Enerflex’s board of directors has appointed its chairman, John Aldred, to the additional roles of president and CEO effective immediately. Aldred founded Enerflex in 1980 and served as president and CEO until 2000. The company will recruit a chief operating officer to oversee day-to- day business activities.
Enerflex (EFX-TSX) is a supplier of products and services to the global oil and gas production industry.
Communications agency Palmer Jarvis DDB Edmonton has promoted two staff members.
In the agency’s creative department, Eva Polis steps from senior copywriter to associate creative director.
Polis has been with PJ DDB Edmonton since 1997. Prior to that, she was a public affairs officer with the Alberta government.
Lorna McElhinney has been promoted from account executive to account supervisor in PJ DDB Edmonton’s recruitment advertising division. McElhinney joined the agency in 1995 and has more than 15 years of experience in marketing communications.
Palmer Jarvis DDB is headquartered in Vancouver with offices in Toronto and Edmonton, as well as a network of strategic alliances across Canada.
David MacInnis has been appointed the new president of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA), effective June 1.
He replaces Bob Hill, who is retiring from CEPA.
Most recently, MacInnis held senior positions in strategic public affairs consulting firms. Previously, he was VP public affairs with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers from 1999 to 2001.
CEPA’s member companies transport more than 95 per cent of the crude oil and natural gas produced in Canada.
Calgary-based Norex Geophysical Inc. has added Ron Schmid as manager of geophysical processing. Most recently Ron provided depth-imaging services through his own firm, Calibre Seismic Technology Inc. of Calgary.
Norex has also brought in Stephanie Ogilvie as sales executive. Stephanie has several years experience marketing both 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition. Norex Geophysical offers seismic data acquisition and data processing services.
Ed Chwyl has been appointed chairman of the board of Oiltec Resources Ltd. He succeeds Charles Williams, who indicated in August 2002 that he would step down at the 2003 annual general meeting. Williams remains a director.
Chwyl has been a director of Oiltec since May of 2001. He was previously chairman of the board of Ventus Energy Ltd., now Navigo Energy Inc. (1998-2002) and of Ascot Energy Resources Ltd., now Great Northern Exploration Ltd. (1999-2002).
Oiltec (OLT-TSX) is a public oil and gas company based in Calgary.
