Peregrine Energy Ltd. (TSX:PEG) has added new members to its management team. Gary Gardiner becomes president and CEO, Art Flaws vice-president of engineering, and George Hardisty vice-president of land and business development.
Gardiner has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Peregrine, Gardiner was with AEC/EnCana Corp. Flaws has been active in the oil and gas industry since 1976. Prior to joining Peregrine, he was a development and exploitation engineer with EnCana Corp.
Hardisty has worked as a staff landman and consultant in the oil and gas industry for 18 years.
Peregrine is a Calgary-based crude oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company.
Brian Straub will be appointed Shell Canada's senior VP for oilsands effective Oct. 1, succeeding Neil Camarta.
Straub joined Shell Canada in 1977. His career has included roles in drilling and operations as well as technical and commercial management positions in the company's exploration and production (E&P) business. He has also worked with Royal Dutch Shell's global E&P organization on assignments abroad.
Blackpool Exploration Ltd. has appointed geologist Terry McCallum as its vice-president of exploration.
Blackpool said McCallum is a geologist with extensive experience throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, most recently as co-owner of a private energy company.
Ivrnet, a provider of web-based telephone services, has made several additions to its management team.
Dennis Leong has joined the company as director of strategic relationships. He was previously director of business development at AD Graphix Inc. Mike Harrison has joined as VP of sales. Harrison's recent posts were as the director of sales at Bell in Western Canada and vice-president at Telus. Ivrnet (TSXV:IVI) has its head office in Calgary.
Pengrowth Corp., administrator of Pengrowth Energy Trust, has announced the resignation of James Emme as executive VP of Pengrowth Corp. Pengrowth says that Emme intends to return to the United States to pursue opportunities with an increased exploration and development focus.
Steve Williams has been named creative director of Venture Communications' Calgary office. Williams has spent the past 11 years in that city. Venture is a marketing communications firm headquartered in Calgary and operating wholly owned branch offices in Toronto, Edmonton and Ottawa.
