Richard Cohen has resigned as vice-president of corporate communications of his namesake, Richards Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSXV:RIX), to focus on other business interests. Cohen will remain as a director.

Richards is an oil and gas exploration company based in Calgary that specializes in CBM properties.

Advantage Energy Income Fund (TSX:AVN.UN, NYSE:AAV) has promoted David Cronkhite to the position of VP of operations.

He has been with Advantage for five years during which time he served as production manager.

Advantage is a conventional oil and gas royalty trust based in Calgary.

Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:RYL.UN) has named Michael Jackson to the positions of president and chief operating officer, effective Aug. 1.

Jackson brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience to the REIT, most recently as president of one of Canada's largest lodging franchisors.

Greg Royer will continue as CEO and trustee until on or before Aug. 31, after which time he will serve in a consulting capacity for the transition period.

Calgary-based Royal Host owns 37 hotels, manages 126 properties and franchises 111 locations in the mid-market to upscale segments.

Tony Van Winkoop has joined Arsenal Energy Inc. (TSX:AEI) as vice-president of exploration. He brings more than 25 years of experience in oil and gas exploration in Canada. Arsenal is an oil and gas producer with head office in Calgary.

RepeatSeat Ltd. (TSXV:RPS) has promoted Mary Benning to VP of business development. Benning has held several positions within the company since joining nearly three years ago.

Calgary-based RepeatSeat is an interactive entertainment services company, offering private-label ticketing and data management services in North America.

SMART Technologies Inc. has appointed Rick Kennedy to the newly created role of director of corporate market development.

An entrepreneur, Kennedy most recently was the CEO and founder of Digital Content Factory Ltd.

SMART is a private technology company founded in 1987 in Calgary. Its flagship product is an interactive whiteboard.

It also sells other group collaboration tools for presentations and training.
