Synenco Energy Inc. (TSX:SYN) is signalling it may be for sale after announcing the resignation of Todd Newton as president, CEO and director. Industry veteran and company co-founder Mike Supple, chairman of the board of directors, is taking over as president and reassuming the role of chief executive officer. Synenco is a Calgary-based oilsands company with a 60-per-cent interest in the Northern Lights Partnership and its proposed oilsands project in northern Alberta. Synenco put the project on hold last May after costs swelled to $10.7 billion. The firm said it has struck a committee of independent directors to examine strategic options.

Tim Hearn is retiring as chairman and chief executive of Imperial Oil Ltd. (TSX:IMO), effective March 31, after more than 41 years with the company. The Calgary-based corporation says current president Bruce March will succeed Hearn as chairman, president and CEO. March joined Mobil Oil as a project engineer in 1980 and advanced through various management jobs with Exxon-Mobil, which controls Imperial Oil.

Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd. (TSX: IDL) has appointed Thomas Boon as chief executive officer. Most recently, Boon was vice-president of global sales and marketing of Del Medical Systems Group. He replaces Darryl Stein, who stepped down in December 2007 and resigned his position as director last month. IDC's products replace conventional film-based X-rays with digital radiography images. IDC is based in Calgary.

Crossfire Energy Services Inc. says its directors and officers have resigned their respective positions with the company. The mass departure follows the placing of Crossfire into receivership by its principal lender. The company operates as a one-stop shop for fabrication, construction and maintenance relating to oilfield facilities. Its head office is in Calgary.

Bob Rosine, executive VP of corporate development, has resigned from Highpine Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX: HPX) after two years with the company.

Rosine's responsibilities will be assumed by Jonathan Lexier, president and CEO. Highpine is a Calgary-based oil and natural gas company focused on Western Canada.

Winstar Resources Ltd. (TSX:WIX) has promoted Bradley Giblin, CA, to VP of finance. Giblin had been the controller of Winstar since joining the company in 2005. Winstar Resources is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company active in Tunisia, Alberta and Hungary.

When the sale of its Calgary Roadking Travel Centre is completed on or about April 1, Roadking Travel Centres Inc. expects Greg Spicer, the current CFO, will replace Glen Hommy as president and CEO to reduce operating costs while pursuing new strategic business opportunities. Roadking's Calgary travel centre provides services and facilities for travelling professionals and the general public.

Canadian Hydro Developers, Inc. (TSX:KHD) says Jamie Urquhart will be leaving his position as COO effective March 31 to pursue other opportunities. Ross Keating, one of the founders and currently president, operations & development, will act as interim COO. KHD is a developer, owner and operator of 20 power-generation facilities diversified across three renewable technologies. Its head office is in Calgary.

Donald Gardner has been appointed CEO of Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. (TSXV:SPI). Gardner has been CFO and secretary of the corporation since January 2003 and will continue in these roles for an interim period. CSRI is a natural resources company focusing on the unconventional gas sector. It is based in Calgary.

Avery Resources Inc. (TSX:ARY) has bought privately held oil and gas firm Bengal Energy Inc. and named a new slate of officers. Bradley Johnson becomes CEO, Chayan Chakrabarty president and James Mott VP of exploration. Previously, Johnson was the CEO of Sequoia Oil and Gas Trust; Johnson was co-founder and president of an international energy consulting practice; and Chakrabarty was VP international with Daylight Resources Trust. The company says arrangements have been made with David Little, Richard Edgar and John Carruthers for the termination of their positions as chairman and CEO; president; and executive VP, respectively. Bengal brings an inventory of oil and gas prospects in India, Libya and Madagascar while Calgary-based Avery is focused on Australia.

Peter Lawrence has been appointed chief technology officer for Matrikon Inc. (TSX: MTK). Prior to joining the Edmonton company, he was the founder and president of Resolution Integration Solutions Inc., whose assets were acquired by Matrikon in 2005. Jay Funnell has been promoted to chief software architect. Funnell had been a product architect at Matrikon since 2000.

Matrikon provides integrated industrial intelligence services.

Jean-Francois Leclerc is the new western division manager, effective June 2008, of Supermetal Structures Inc. He joined Supermetal in 2001 and was previously project manager at the company's head office in St-Romuald, Que. Supermetal Structures is a Canadian-owned structural steel manufacturer with facilities in Quebec and Alberta and clients across North America.
