Progress Energy Ltd. (TSX-PGX.UN) has appointed Cindy Rutherford the vice-president of land. She has more than 25 years of experience in land management, negotiation and administration, and has been instrumental in the development and management of Progress's land portfolio. Progress is a Calgary-based natural gas-focused trust.
Smart Technologies Inc. has named two new vice'-presidents. Bill Jones joins Smart's Calgary head office as VP of North American sales, while Alan Richards assumes the role of VP of operations.
Prior to joining Smart, Jones held the position of president and CEO of the sales and marketing management-consulting company Hunter Jones Solutions, Inc. Richards comes to Smart from Gennum Corp.

Reece Energy Exploration Corp. has appointed Ron Stuckert as chief executive officer. He takes over from Lorne Swalm, who remains as president and chairman of the board.

Kelman Technologies Inc. has announced the pending appointment of Rene VandenBrand to the position of president and CEO of the company.
He previously held several senior executive positions with a Kelman competitor.
