George Crookshank has been named the chief financial officer of Ensource Energy Services Inc., one of a handful of appointments announced by the Calgary company last week.

Others named to senior management posts include: Yves Tremblay, president of Gridlink Power Systems Ltd., EnSource’s wholly owned subsidiary focused on the fabrication of power generation units; Glen Ortt, general counsel; Albert Elliott, VP human resources and communications; and Rob Lawrence, president of Canadian Select Energy Services Ltd., EnSource’s wholly owned subsidiary providing oil and gas production, drilling-related equipment and pipeline construction activities.

Crookshank is a chartered accountant who has more than 20 years of financial management experience, most recently holding the post of CFO and VP finance for Newport Petroleum Corp.

He replaces J. Ian Bootle, whose contract expires at the end of this week. Jim van der Sloot has announced that he is leaving the company. He is resigning his positions as corporate development officer and member of the board of directors effective April 15 to pursue other business interests and to spend time with his family.

EnSource (CDNX-EEN) is an energy service company that provides products and services to the oil and gas industry as well as small-scale power generation.

Richard Leblanc has been hired as interim CEO for Patchgear.com

Leblanc has worked in the technology industry as an executive consultant for the past seven years with a number of private companies, including Cybersurf Corp. and Equess Communications Inc. His roles as CEO/mentor have been in designing and implementing strategies for corporate turnaround and improving fiscal control and governance.

Patchgear.com (PG-CDNX) provides e-commerce solutions to strengthen relationships between manufacturers, existing distribution channels and customers.

Guy Turcotte has been named the chairman of Alliance Pipeline’s board of directors.

At the same time, Allan Edgeworth, currently president, assumes the role of CEO. The postings follow the announcement last December that Norman Gish was stepping down as chairman and CEO following five years with Alliance.

Turcotte is chairman and CEO of Fort Chicago Energy Management Ltd., the general partner of Fort Chicago Energy Partners L.P., the largest shareholder of Alliance Pipeline.

Oz Pedde has become a member of the board of directors of NetDriven Solutions Inc.

Pedde has 25 years of executive experience in the telecommunications industry, beginning his career as VP of marketing with Manitoba Telecom Services. Since 2000, Pedde has acted as a private technology and business strategy consultant to various companies.

Meanwhile, Kevin Torudag of Lockwood Financial Ltd. has been named investor relations representative for NetDriven.

Torudag will provide investor relations and competitive intelligence research to the company. His responsibilities include strategic planning, retail and industrial investor relations.

He is also charged with working with financial and technology-specific media to increase awareness of the company.

NetDriven (NDS-TSE) provides high-volume data storage services, data and application management, and online data and application delivery solutions to businesses.

Harold (Hal) Kvisle has been named president and CEO of TransCanada PipeLines, effective May 1.

He replaces outgoing president and CEO Doug Baldwin. Kvisle’s hiring follows a seven-month search for a candidate after Baldwin announced plans to retire.

Kvisle currently holds the position of executive VP, responsible for TCPL’s trading and business development area. He joined the company two years ago after 10 years as president of Fletcher Challenge Energy (FCE) Canada and chief operating officer of FCE Americas.

James Manis has joined Questor Technology Inc. as its manager of business development.

Manis is experienced in business development and marketing, recently serving as a senior executive for an Alberta-based firm dealing with design and manufacturing of process equipment for the energy industry.
