Calgary tech veteran John Krpan has taken the chief executive’s chair at RightsMarket Inc.
Krpan was most recently COO of Calgary-based Cell-Loc, and has held senior positions with TELUS, World Bank and CGI.
He will help lead the campaign to accelerate the transition from early-stage development company to a successful product business.

Mark Sirangelo has stepped down as president and CEO of QWIP Technologies, LLC. The company, a division of the Edmonton-based Rainbow Group of Companies (RPB-CDNX), has launched an immediate search for a replacement.

Pure Technologies Ltd. of Calgary has appointed Scott Jenkins as chief financial officer.
A chartered accountant by trade, Jenkins became the company’s controller in July 2000 and was named corporate secretary in August 2001.
He will be responsible for overall financial functions including financial planning and analysis, financial processes and regulatory requirements.

Elite (ET-CDNX) is a Calgary-based manufacturer of cable assemblies and connection solutions for use in commercial and industrial consumer products.

Norm Greenfield (with consulting firm Provoco Status Quo) was elected as secretary, and will also chair the 2002 Digital Arts Competition organizing committee. Thom Eggertson (partner in The Executive Team) was re-elected as treasurer.
Ruthenberg, general manager of FoundLocally.com Media, said one of his goals this year is to “evangelize the unique needs of smaller New Media companies.” Alberta New Media/Calgary is a founding chapter of the Alberta New Media Association, “the official voice of the new media industry in Alberta.”

Sid Dutchak, QC, is the new CEO and president of QCC Technologies Inc. He replaces David Criddle, who will remain as a board member of the Calgary-based company (QCC-CDNX).
Dutchak was a founding director of QCC and has been board chairman since November last year.

Calgary-based Promotional Products International, Ltd. has named Jerry McKenzie to the position of general manager of sales (Calgary).
McKenzie will oversee product sales to increase the company’s share of the Calgary market. Prior to joining Promotional Products (PP-CDNX; WWQ-FSE), he was president of WDC Mackenzie, a Calgary-based promotional products distributor.
