ARA Safety Inc. has appointed Michael Ainsworth as its CEO. Ainsworth replaces James Fierro, who will continue to serve as executive chairman. Ainsworth was previously executive VP of Ainsworth Lumber. The founding family recently relinquished its control of the company in a recapitalization plan and family members also stepped down as managers. ARA Safety provides fire-prevention technology. The company, a reporting issuer that is not listed for trading on any exchange, is based in Vancouver.

Global Uranium Corp. (TSXV:GU) has named Timea Carlsen as CEO and Alnesh Mohan as CFO. George Heard will remain as the company's president and a director, while former CFO Chester Shynkaryk will remain a director. Since 2002, Carlsen has worked as a consultant to public companies in the resource sector.

Mohan, a CA, brings more than 13 years of experience working within the Big 4 public accounting firms, and providing management services. Based in Vancouver, Global is active in the Lisbon Valley uranium district.

Crosshair Exploration & Mining Corp. (TSX:CXX, AMEX:CXZ) has hired Joseph Miller as CFO. Prior to joining Crosshair, Miller was the CFO of GPS Industries Inc. He replaces Douglas Brett, who leaves the company to concentrate on his role as CFO of Santa Fe Metals Corp. Crosshair is exploring for uranium in the Central Mineral Belt of Labrador. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.

Norm Streu has joined LMS Reinforcing Steel Group as executive VP and general counsel.

Until recently, Streu led his legal firm's construction and engineering law practice. With head office in Surrey, LMS is a rebar fabricator and installer in Western Canada.

GrowthWorks says David Levi will be transitioning from his roles as president and CEO of GrowthWorks and its managed funds in March, 2009. At that time, COO Les Lyall will assume the position of CEO of Vancouver-based GrowthWorks and will be proposed to assume Levi's CEO roles for GrowthWorks' managed funds. Levi will remain an officer, director and shareholder of GrowthWorks, which is a venture capital fund manager across Canada.
