Fording Canadian Coal Trust (TSX:FDG.UN, NYSE:FDG) has appointed R. J. (Jim) Brown as vice'-president and chief financial officer of the coal trust effective Oct. 3.

Brown will also be appointed VP and CFO of the Elk Valley Coal Partnership by its managing partner, Teck Cominco Coal Partnership.

Brown will replace Ron Millos, who is returning to Teck Cominco Ltd. as senior VP of finance and CFO to take the place of John Taylor, who is retiring.

Most recently Brown was VP of finance and CFO of High Point Resources Inc.

Fording Canadian Coal Trust is an open-ended mutual fund trust that, through its subsidiaries, holds a 60-per-cent interest in the Elk Valley Coal Partnership and is the world's largest producer of the industrial mineral wollastonite.

Cruiser Oil & Gas Ltd. of Calgary has hired John Aylward as vice-president of exploration. The company says Aylward brings 24 years of domestic and international experience to the position.

Cruiser (TSXV:COG) is a junior energy company engaged in the exploration, acquisition and production of oil and natural gas in Western Canada.

Antibe Therapeutics Inc., an early stage drug development company, has appointed Daniel Legault as its president and CEO and Alain Wilson as chief financial officer.

Antibe says Legault brings extensive strategic management experience, having led a number of companies, while Wilson brings a background in international strategic and financial management across a number of industries.

Antibe's founding president and CEO, John Wallace, will undertake the role of chief scientific officer and will remain as chairman of the board.

Antibe has its headquarters in Calgary.

Serenic Corp. (TSXV:SER), an international publisher of financial and operational software, has named Michael Frost as the company's new chief financial officer, to be based in its Edmonton office.

Prior to joining Serenic, Frost was a manager and a recent addition to the senior management team at KPMG LLP in Edmonton.

Frost assumes some of the duties of Serenic chairman Dwayne Kushniruk, who had been the company's acting CFO.

Serenic Corp. publishes mission-critical software products for not-for-profits and governments, and for human capital management.

Advanced ID Corp. (OTCBB:AIDO), which serves the radio frequency identification and traceability market for the animal industry, says Todd Noble is resigning his positions as vice-president of finance and chief financial officer effective Oct. 31.

David Goldenberg, a company director, will take over Noble's responsibilities on an acting basis while the Calgary-based company searches for a replacement.

Jerome Konecsni has become the president and CEO of Genome Prairie, succeeding Randal Johnston.

Konecsni was previously vice-president of corporate development at Saskatchewan biotech firm Bioriginal.

With its corporate office currently in Calgary, Genome Prairie was incorporated in 2000 as a focus of genomics research in the three Prairie provinces.
