Western Forest Products Inc. (TSX:WEF) has named Paul Ireland as the company's new chief financial officer.

Ireland joins WFP from Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. where he spent two years as vice-president of finance.

He succeeds Phil Hosier, who has retired but will continue to work with the company in a consulting role.

B.C.-based Western Forest is an integrated Canadian forest products company.

FortisBC Inc.'s vice- president of finance and chief financial officer will be leaving the company effective June 30.

FortisBC said Bob Meyers will be returning to Newfoundland for family reasons, and will work in Fortis Inc.'s finance group.

An internal and external search has been launched for a replacement.

David Blann has joined Bishop Gold Inc. (TSXV:BSG) as vice-president of exploration, supervising the exploration programs on the Lawyers Group properties in the Toodoggone region of British Columbia. Blann is a self-employed professional geological engineer and the president of two private companies.

Vancouver-based Bishop is a junior precious metals exploration company operating in Western and Northern Canada.

Tom Pollock is ValGold Resources Ltd.'s new vice-president of exploration, replacing Arthur Troup who has assumed the role of chief geologist for ValGold to act in an advisory role.

Pollock has spent the last three years with ValGold, responsible for the generation, acquisition and management of the company's gold and base-metal properties in Canada and China.

ValGold is an international mineral development company based in Vancouver.

DTI Dental Technologies Inc. has promoted Brenda Edwards to the position of chief financial officer.

Previously, Edwards served as the company's vice-president of finance.

Insurance broker Hub International Barton Ltd. has made two changes in its executive suite.

James Barton and George Robertson have been appointed president/chief operating officer and chief sales officer, respectively. The two were previously senior vice-presidents.

James Barton succeeds Craig Barton, who will remain as chairman and CEO of Hub Barton and president of Canadian operations for Hub International Ltd.

Based in Chilliwack, Hub Barton is a subsidiary of Hub International Ltd. of Chicago.

Engine-maker Cummins Westport Inc. of Vancouver has appointed Guan Saw as president. Saw will move to Vancouver from his current position as GM of Cummins East Asia in Beijing as of April 1.

Hugh Foden, president since mid 2002, will lead the engine business in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

CWI, a joint venture of Cummins Inc. and Westport Innovations Inc., manufactures and sells low-emissions alternative fuel engines for commercial transportation applications such as trucks and buses.

Red Resort of Rossland, B.C., has tapped Heather Reimer to become its new director of sales and marketing.

Reimer will lead strategic marketing and sales activities for resort's ongoing redevelopment efforts.

She has spent the past 15 years in management positions at various resorts throughout North America.

Red offers 1,585 skiable acres with runs that descend 884 metres.

Mitha is a leader in early stage technology companies including medical device and health-care industry startups in Canada and overseas, the company said in a release.

Vancouver-based Cogent (TSXV:CSO) develops case management tools for client care, existing systems and legacy data in the health-care field in Canada and the United States.
