Luna Gold Corp. (LGC.U-TSXV) has named Tim Searcy as its new president and chief executive.

Prior to joining Luna, Searcy worked in the corporate offices of Placer Dome. He replaces president David De Witt, who continues as a director of Vancouver-based Luna.

Luna Gold Corp. is a mineral exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties, with a focus on China.

Pharmaceutical developer Neuromed Technologies Inc. has named Dr. Christopher Gallen as its president and CEO. He succeeds Natalie Dakers.

Gallen was most recently a vice-president at Wyeth Research.

Neuromed is a private biopharmaceutical company that develops chronic pain drugs with programs in anxiety, epilepsy and cardiovascular diseases.

Dave Cobb has been appointed the senior vice-president of revenue, marketing and communications for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC).

Cobb will be responsible for leading and managing all the revenue generation, marketing and communications activities of the Games.

He joins VANOC after 12 years with the Vancouver Canucks and Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, most recently serving as chief operating officer.

Gosselin will work as a senior research mining analyst from Haywood’s Toronto office. She most recently worked for a national investment dealer and prior to that spent more than nine years as a mining engineer.

Vancouver-based Haywood is a private, employee-owned investment dealer with more than 200 employees and offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.

Hydrogen fuel-cell developer Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLD-TSX) has named Noordin Nanji the vice-president of marketing and business development, replacing Ross Witschonke, who is leaving to pursue other outside interests.

Nanji’s former position of vice-president of corporate strategy and development has been eliminated.

Chief financial officer Dave Smith will assume responsibility for all strategy, legal and corporate relations activities in addition to his finance-related responsibilities, and Michael Rosenberg becomes the company’s new treasurer.

Pacific Insight Electronics Corp. (PIH-TSX) has appointed Jeffrey D. Hunt to the new role of vice-president of operations.

Hunt will design and help support operational renewal and development in all areas of the company.

Prior to joining Pacific Insight, he was director of operations at Canada’s largest computer manufacturer.

Pacific Insight is a designer, manufacturer and supplier of electronic components to the automotive, heavy truck and marine markets.
