Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G) has promoted Steve Reid to chief operating officer. Reid previously served as Goldcorp's executive vice-president in charge of U.S. and Canadian operations.
He replaces Russell Barwick, who has served as Goldcorp's executive VP and COO since the company's merger with Wheaton River in 2005.
Also departing is Jim Voorhees, former COO of Glamis Gold, recently acquired by Goldcorp.
Former Goldcorp executive VP Chuck Jeannes has been appointed executive VP of corporate development.
Goldcorp is a Vancouver-based gold miner.
Plutonic Power Corp. (TSXV:PCC), a Vancouver-based emerging renewable energy producer, has named Paul Sweeney to the position of executive VP of corporate development.
Sweeney has been a financial consultant to Plutonic since March 2006. He most recently served as chief financial officer of Canico Resource Corp.
Haleh (Holly) Keshavarz-Alexander has been appointed president of the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. She is currently the branch manager of the Royal Bank at Park Royal.
Raymond Longmuir has taken on the role of Playground Real Estate Inc.'s director of sales for Whistler. Longmuir comes to Playground from RE/MAX Sea to Sky Realty.

Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. (TSX:ACA) named Matt Manson as its interim president and CEO after Robert Boyd resigned those positions.
Manson, who currently heads Contact Diamond Corp., will fill in as Ashton's top executive until the company's amalgamation with a subsidiary of Stornoway Diamond Corp. is complete.
Ashton is a diamond exploration company based in North Vancouver.
MPH Ventures Corp. (TSXV:MPS) says Allen Cole has agreed to serve as VP of exploration for the company. He comes with more than 20 years of experience in the mineral exploration and development sector.
MPH is a gold, silver and base-metal exploration company focused on Latin America. Its head office is in Vancouver.
David Redekop, CA, has been appointed CFO of Trigon Uranium Corp. (TSXV:TEL) while George Poling has been appointed executive chairman of Trigon Diamond Corp. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Trigon Uranium.
Trigon Uranium is focused on known uranium deposits in the southwestern U.S. Kelowna-based Trigon also operates a portfolio of diamond exploration properties within its subsidiary.
Quest Capital Corp. (TSX:QC, AMEX:QCC) says CFO Susan Neale has left the company to pursue other opportunities, but will be available during the transition period.
She has been succeeded by Narinder Nagra, formerly Quest's treasurer.
Quest Capital is a merchant bank that provides mortgages and bridge loans to the real estate, manufacturing and resource sectors. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.
Scorpio Mining Corp. (TSX:SPM) says Peter Hawley has stepped down as company president but will remain CEO and chairman. Stepping up to the president's position is Roger Scammell, who for the past two years has served as VP of exploration.
Hawley says splitting the head roles will better enable Scorpio "to face the challenges of 2007 and keep our shareholders and the financial community better informed."
Based in Vancouver, Scorpio is an emerging silver miner.
ESI Entertainment Systems Inc. (TSX:ESY) says its subsidiary, ESI Integrity Inc., has promoted Alan Ahac to the position of president.
Ahac has been with the ESI group of companies since 1998 and most recently was VP of business development for ESI Integrity.
ESI provides continuous monitoring software for the gaming industry. Its corporate office is in Burnaby.
