Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take in a weekday round of golf without adversely affecting your business.

The only thing better would be to enjoy a game of golf while actually boosting your company’s performance. That’s the idea behind the Tee Learning Series, an innovative program designed by Calgary-based People Performance Consulting Inc. (PPC).

Combining a morning seminar and afternoon of golf, the series enables people at all levels to hone their business skills and golf stroke on the same day.

“It’s in everyone’s best interest to improve performance through training seminars, but no one wants to spend eight hours stuck in a sweaty conference room during golf season,” explains Paul Bilodeau, PPC’s training director.

“The Tee Learning Series is a great way to get people excited about their training day. It’s nice to know that after an enlightening morning workshop, you get to unwind on the links.”

The first of five seminar/golf events will be held May 28 at the gorgeous Elbow Springs Golf Club. It kicks off with a tasty breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by “The Versatile Communicator” seminar from 8:30 to 11:30.

Lunch starts at 11:30, then you can have a free golf lesson before the tee times, which start at 1:27 p.m. The day of training, food and fun costs just $179 per person.

Future Tee Learning event topics include:

* June 11 – Get Out There! Successful Networking

* July 23 – Performance Coaching

* August 13 – Shut Up and Listen - The Art of Questioning

* September 18 – Customers’ Expectations - Manage Them Now!

The Versatile Communicator seminar will help participants discover the four personality styles, including your own. A better understanding of the differing styles will help you be more efficient, enjoy life more, and interact more effectively, both personally and professionally.

“Effective communication skills and a good understanding of the power of influence can make all the difference in personal productivity,” says Bilodeau, who has 16 years experience in sales and management training.

Topics will include the three critical elements of communication, the importance of body language and personality, how to identify and understand the different personality styles, and how to adapt a more effective approach to communication by identifying strengths and weaknesses.

“Whether you’re an entrepreneur, consultant, sales/service rep, business owner or manager, you will come out of this series as a better communicator – and, ultimately, that can make a big difference on your company’s bottom line.”

PPC’s common-sense approach to training means you’re not handed with a three-ring binder jammed with information you’ll never get around to reviewing.

“We keep it simple,” adds Bilodeau, whose training expertise has earned rave reviews from clients ranging from entrepreneurs to Norwest Labs and Bell Mobility.

“A lot of training companies take themselves too seriously and seem to gauge their success on how many complicated theories they send you home with. We’re just going to focus on providing practical training that can make an immediate impact on performance. You will gain a better understanding of yourself and others, which can really help you thrive in your daily business dealings.”

PPC also has coming seminars entitled “Common Sense Selling,” and “In Praise of Bolder Women.”
