Vancouver-based Haywood Securities has expanded its investment research team.
Rob Goff has been promoted to head of research. He joined Haywood in 2003 from a leading global brokerage firm, where he was a director in Canadian telecom research.
As well, Frederick Kozak joins the firm’s Calgary office as a senior oil and gas research analyst, while Christine Sauriol has been hired as research manager. Kozak was an equity analyst for the past four years and has spent 13 years in the oil and gas industry as a consultant. Sauriol is a former surveillance officer with Market Regulation Services Inc.
As well, the company has promoted research associate Andrew Mikitchook to senior mining analyst. Mikitchook, to be based in Toronto, has followed the mining sector as an associate at Haywood for the past four years.
Haywood Securities is a private, employee-owned investment dealer with more than 200 employees and Canadian offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.
David McLennan is the new CFO of Vancouver-based Sierra Wireless.
Previously, McLennan spent 10 years in senior management positions within the BCE group of companies, including terms as CFO of Bell Canada, and president and COO of Bell Express Vu.
He replaces Peter Roberts, who retires from Sierra (SW-TSX; SWIR-NASDAQ) at the end of this month.
Diamond Fields International Ltd. has appointed Kenneth Hecker to the positions of chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Most recently, Hecker was vice-president of finance for Doe Run Peru.

Hugh Willson has joined Vancouver-based Capstone Gold Corp. as vice-president of exploration.
He replaces Jack Marr, who remains a director of the company (CSG-TSXV).
Willson is an exploration geologist with more than 30 years of experience, primarily in Latin America.
Michael Redfearn is the new operations vice-president for Vancouver-based bcMetals Corporation.
Redfearn has more than 30 years of mining, metallurgical, environmental and construction experience.
bcMetals is developing the Red Chris copper-gold porphyry project in northwestern British Columbia.
DiamondWorks Ltd. has appointed Mike Jones as chief operating officer for oil projects.
Jones recently left Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation, where held he senior roles for two decades.
DiamondWorks is a mining and mineral exploration company with principal mineral properties in Sierra Leone, Angola and Central African Republic.
Vancouver-based Leisure Canada, Inc. has named Guy Chartier as president and chief operating officer.
Chartier has more than 20 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, most recently as president of Amero Capital of Montreal, a corporate finance firm specializing in hospitality, leisure and IT projects.
Barry Allen has resigned as president of VSM MedTech Ltd. He had been at the helm since 1999.
He will be replaced by Jack Price, who was recently appointed the company’s chief executive officer.
VSM (VSM-TSX) develops, manufactures and markets medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
