Helix BioPharma (TSX, FSE:HBP) has appointed Frank Michalargias as chief financial officer. He replaces Ken Cawkell, who has served as interim CEO since last summer. Prior to his appointment at Helix BioPharma, Michalargias served as CFO of AP Plasman Corp.

Headquartered in Aurora, Helix BioPharma is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the field of cancer therapy.

Ronald Gagel has joined FNX Mining Co. Inc. (TSX:FNX, AMEX:FNX) as vice-president and chief financial officer. Gagel was previously appointed to FNX's board of directors and will continue to serve as a director.

The company said former CFO John Ross has left to pursue other opportunities.

FNX Mining is a nickel, copper and precious metal producer, developer and explorer based in the Sudbury mining camp.

Dean MacEachern has joined Canadian Arrow Mines Ltd. (TSXV:CRO) as vice-president for exploration.

Most recently MacEachern managed Falconbridge's southeastern Africa nickel and PGM exploration efforts.

Canadian Arrow is an exploration and development company currently focused on its Alexo nickel sulphide project near its home base of Timmins.

AGF Funds Inc. has named Gary Wing to the newly created position of senior VP for institutional investment services. Wing has more than 20 years of financial services experience, most recently as institutional VP for Franklin Templeton in Toronto.

AGF is an investment management company with offices across Canada and subsidiaries around the world.

Phototherapy device manufacturer MedX Health Corp. has made several key senior management appointments.

Rick Rioles is appointed vice-president for sales. He brings more than 15 years of sales and management experience in the medical device and biotechnology industry.

Richard Stern has accepted the new position of VP for business development. He has more than 25 years of senior management business development and finance experience.

Robert Mowat has become CFO of the Mississauga-based company (OTCBB:MEDH).

After three months on the job, Gary Daichendt has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Nortel Networks Corp. Nortel (TSX:NT) also announced that chief technology officer Gary Kunis, who previously worked alongside Daichendt at Cisco Systems in the United States, will also leave the Canadian-based telecom and Internet network giant.

CEO Bill Owens, the former U.S. admiral who is also vice-chairman of Nortel, will assume Daichendt's responsibilities, the Brampton-based firm said in a release.

Gary Moyer has been appointed president of Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover Canada. Moyer was most recently president of Land Rover Japan. He takes up his new position in the Jaguar Land Rover head office in Bramalea.

Spider Resources Inc. (TSXV:SPQ) has appointed Neil Novak as president and CEO. He has been a director of Spider for 10 years and as a consultant earlier played a role in the development of the company's diamond and base-metal exploration strategy in areas of Ontario.

Richard Hamelin has been appointed VP for finance and CFO. He previously worked as a merger, acquisition and financing consultant to the junior mineral resource sector. Spider's office is in Toronto.

Kodak Canada Inc. announced that lawyer Susan Mey has been named president and chair effective Aug. 1.

Mey, who has been with the photography company for five years, will continue in her role as general counsel.

The company, a subsidiary of U.S.-based Eastman Kodak, announced in December that it would close its Toronto manufacturing plant by mid-2005, leaving about 550 people in sales and support positions.

Fusepoint Managed Services Inc. has appointed tech industry veteran George Kerns as president and CEO.

Kerns most recently served as president and CEO of Digex, a provider of managed enterprise hosting services.

Fusepoint, a privately held company, provides managed IT services and infrastructure from its data centres and offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Quebec City.

Southampton Ventures Inc. (TSXV:SV) has appointed Richard Patricio as president and CEO.

Patricio was previously general counsel for a TSX-listed corporation since January 2001.

Toronto-based Southampton is a mineral exploration company focused on diamonds, uranium and other minerals.

The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) has appointed Paul Bradley as vice-president of generation development.

Bradley was most recently founder and managing director of PJB Energy Solutions.
