Promoting from within its ranks, Vancouver-based Sierra Systems Group Inc. has appointed Iraj Pourian as the company's chief executive officer.

The move will be effective by the end of August, after Pourian serves a transitional stint as the chief operating officer starting March 1.

Pourian has been the branch manager of Sierra Systems' Ottawa office since 2002.

Ian Reid will continue as Sierra's CEO until August to provide continuity.

Gary Ingenito has joined Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as senior VP of clinical development and regulatory affairs.

Ingenito brings more than 17 years of experience in clinical and regulatory affairs, and most recently was the senior vice-president of SFBC International.

as president and CEO.

Gauthier has headed Cambior Inc.'s operations in the Andes and Peru for the last nine years.

Strongbow Exploration Inc. has altered its managerial ranks.

Grenville Thomas, formerly president and CEO of the company, has been appointed chairman of the board. Ken Armstrong, formerly the company's VP of exploration, has been appointed president and CEO. David Gale has been appointed exploration manager for Strongbow. Most recently he worked with Barrick Gold Inc.

Vancouver-based Strongbow (TSXV:SBW) is an exploration company engaged in the search for economic mineral deposits in Northern Canada.

There's been a management shuffle at Lake Shore Gold Corp.

Brian Booth has become president and CEO. He replaces Daniel Innes, who becomes chair of the board of directors. Anthony Harvey, former chair, becomes lead director.

To create a seat on the board for Booth, Thomas Beattie has resigned as director to become vice-president of corporate development.

Most recently, Booth was Inco Ltd.'s manager of exploration for North America and Europe.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Lake Shore (TSXV:LSG) explores for gold and base metals in Ontario and Quebec.

Jim Greenough has become the chief operating officer for Diversified Industries Ltd. of Sidney.

He will be head of operations at the company's product development and marketing facility in Edmonton.

Greenough has consulted to private companies as well as the Alberta government.
