Red Deer lawyer Tom Langford will settle into the president’s chair at the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce on July 1, replacing restaurateur Glenn Simon.
Three directors were re-elected: Margaret Anderson, Randy Preece and Terry Mihaychuk. Seven new directors entered their first term: Allan Fertig, Bryce Hume, Domenico Mancuso, Darrel Northcott, Don Sim, Mitch Thomson and Gil Vallee.
The board retains 10 directors who move into the second year of their term.

Scott Hamilton has been appointed chief financial officer of Calgary-based Wenzel Downhole Tools (WZL-TSX). Hamilton, a chartered accountant, most recently served as chief financial officer for a private cogeneration company. He also has extensive experience in information technology, human resource management, strategic planning and corporate business planning and development.
The oilpatch services firm is under investigation by the Alberta Securities Commission for financial irregularities. In March, chief financial officer Brenton Driscoll resigned two days after being appointed to the post.
