Liquidation World Inc. founder Dale Gillespie has stepped down as CEO and president.
He’ll be replaced by Wayne Mantika, who has been with the company for 15 years, most recently as vice-president, while it seeks a successor to Gillespie.
The Calgary-based discount retail giant (LQW-TSX) has also made a series of other appointments.
Andrew Searby, secretary and CFO since 1995, is now executive vice-president. Ross Roberts, COO of Liquidation World since 2000 and general manager since 1994, has been named executive vice-president of store operations.
Darren Gillespie, who has held a variety of senior roles in the past decade, is the new executive VP of sales and
marketing (Going Out of Business Unit and corporate development).
Jonathan Hill, a company executive since 1991, has been appointed executive VP of eastern operations development and product management corporation investment.
Software executive Charles Buchanan has been named president and CEO of E-Volve Inc. The software company is developing technology that links heterogeneous business applications into a unified system so processes and data can be shared throughout the enterprise.
Frank Stanford is the new president of WellPoint Systems Inc. Stanford was most recently vice-president of information services for Western Canada at a large gas transmission company.
WellPoint Systems is a Calgary-based oil and gas
software company catering to the midstream and upstream sectors of the industry.
Calgary-based broadband equipment provider Novra (NVI-TSX) has named technology veteran Harris Liontas as president and CEO.
He replaces Moe Barakat, who has stepped down but will continue on the board.
Edmonton-based IO-TEK Inc. has brought onboard Mike Hoover Jr. as translation project manager.
Hoover has several years’ experience managing day-to-day operations of a translation company. IO-TEK is a
developer of Certified Human Translation services.
Jonathan Liu has joined Calgary-based Iron Leaf Communications as an interactive designer.
Liu brings six years experience in the arts and media industry with a specialty in web and video-game design. He has held previous roles at Critical Mass and H20 Entertainment.
Promotional Products International, Ltd. has hired Bob Cirillo as executive vice-president of marketing and sales. He was previously VP of sales at Bell Intrigna Inc.
Promotional Products International, Ltd. (PP-TSX Venture) is a promotional products distributor based in Calgary.
Taco Time Canada is strengthening its top team.
Joining the Calgary-based company are Steve Nickerson as director of operations and Gerry Lev as franchise development consultant for British Columbia.
