Cushman & Wakefield LePage, a commercial real estate broker, has appointed Pierre Bergevin as its new president and CEO, replacing longtime head Colum Bastable. Bergevin, who has been with the company since 1989, is current president of the company's facilities management group and senior managing director of client solutions. He will assume his new post July 7. Bastable has been CEO for the last 15 years and will remain with the firm as chairman of Canadian operations. Cushman & Wakefield has offices in 12 cities across Canada.

Jonathan Hill, president and CEO, will assume leadership of the company's buying function. Liquidation World sells consumer merchandise through 106 stores in Canada and the United States. Hagan brings more than 30 years of experience implementing safety and environmental management systems in the North American mining industry. GeneNews Ltd. (TSX:GEN) president and CEO Wayne Marshall has resigned those positions to become chief clinical scientist as the company moves toward commercialization of its major product. Director Heiner Dreismann, a former president and CEO of Roche Molecular Diagnostics, will head the company in the interim. Senior VP Gailina Liew has been appointed acting chief operating officer. Toronto-based GeneNews develops blood-based biomarker tests for the early detection of diseases.

Cline is focused on the exploration and development of metallurgical coal in Canada and the U.S., gold in Canada, and uranium and iron-ore in Madagascar. Its head office is moving to Toronto.

From 1998 to 2007 he held senior financial positions with Strongco Income Fund. The REIT invests primarily in self-storage properties and ancillary businesses throughout Canada. Its head office is in Toronto.
