Marksmen Resources Ltd. (TSXV:MA) has appointed John McIntyre to the position of CFO. McIntyre had been performing the accounting and finance duties for RXO Energy since November 2006 and subsequently with Marksmen after it acquired RXO in June 2007. Marksmen is a junior oil and gas company based in Calgary.

BlackWatch Energy Services Trust (TSX:BWT.UN) says chief operating officer Robert Copeland has tendered his resignation to pursue other opportunities. President and chief executive officer Travis Robertson will assume direct responsibility for operations, the trust said. Based in Calgary, BlackWatch provides a range of oilfield services to companies operating in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.

NuVista Energy Ltd. (TSX:NVA) says Patrick Miles, vice-president of exploration, is resigning to pursue interests outside the oil and gas industry. Kevin Christie will take over the position in June. He was most recently VP of exploration for TAQA North Ltd. NuVista is a Calgary oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company.

Pacific Rodera Energy Inc. (TSXV: PRD) has a new VP of land. Prior to joining the company, John Nesbitt held the positions of VP, land at Capitol Energy Resources Ltd. and senior landman with Talisman Energy. Pacific Rodera is a Calgary-based resource company engaged in the hunt for and development of gas and oil in Western Canada.

Eagle Rock Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:ERX) has hired Rob Bell as vice-president of engineering. Bell is the former VP engineering and COO of Dragonheart Resources Ltd., acquired by Eagle Rock in December 2007. Bell replaces Ron Chapman, who has been appointed VP operations. John Andriuk stepped down from the positions of VP operations and COO last month. Eagle Rock explores for and develops oil and gas properties in Western Canada. Its head office is in Calgary.

Subash Raman has been appointed VP of operations and information technology for Pay Linx Financial Corp. (TSXV:PIN). Raman brings more than 20 years of experience in the information technology sector. Pay Linx delivers payment processing services that integrate into the Interac and MasterCard financial networks in North America. Its corporate office is in Calgary.

More than a decade after founding a startup oil and gas explorer out of his den, Richard Anderson has stepped down as head of First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. (TSX:FCP), ending a bitter proxy fight between company management and dissident shareholders that wanted Anderson replaced. Anderson said he hopes his action will help First Calgary move ahead with a plan to develop a major Algerian natural gas field and to boost the company's languishing stock price. He will be replaced as president and CEO by former COO Shane O'Leary. Under a deal with major shareholder Waterford Finance and Investment Ltd., Anderson will remain a consultant to FCP for about six months. Waterford, a private U.K. firm, owns 9.4 per cent of FCP.

WellPoint Systems Inc. (TSXV: WPS) says CFO Stephen Massel is leaving for another opportunity. He will be available to assist the company through the transition period. WellPoint provides software and related services for managing critical operations within the energy industry.

Calgary-based WellPoint has major operations in Houston, Denver, Bogota and London, England.

Scott Milroy has resigned as CFO of Suroco Energy Inc. (TSXV:SRN). Travis Doupe has been hired as VP of finance and CFO. Doupe comes with more than 12 years of oil and gas corporate finance experience, most recently at Milagro Energy Inc. Suroco is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company focused on Western Canada.

Solara Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:SAA.A, SAA.B) has engaged Brent McGillivray as VP of production and operations. Most recently, he held a management position in a mid-sized oil and gas trust. McGillivray replaces Kevin Dickson, who resigned to focus on other professional and family endeavours. Solara is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company focused on Western Canada.

A senior architect and experienced business leader is joining the University of Calgary as VP of capital planning and development to lead the U of C’s capital growth plan. The portfolio is a new addition to the university’s senior leadership team. Bob Ellard, a 35-year veteran of the design and architecture industry, will join the university on July 1. Ellard is currently VP of architecture and interior design, facilities planning and operations at Stantec.

Steve Blakely, currently president and CEO of Servus Credit Union, has been chosen to lead the new credit union formed by the merger of Community Savings, Common Wealth and Servus. Murray Haubrich, Community Savings, and Jeff Mulligan, Common Wealth, will continue to lead their respective credit unions during the transition. The new credit union will commence operations Nov. 1 with approximately $9 billion in assets and some 400,000 members in 63 Alberta communities.
