Checking in for a long stay?
Marriott’s Residence Inn Calgary Airport is scheduled to open May 1 at 2622 39th Ave. N.E. in Hopewell Business Park. It’s an all-suite hotel targeted at the traveller staying a few nights or more.
The hotel is purpose-built for extended-stay guests and rates are competitive for the amenities in the suites and elsewhere, says marketing director Jillian Nestoruk.
Rates will start at $119 a night and decrease with length of stay.
Each suite has a complete kitchen including dishwasher, and Nestoruk says the hotel will shop for groceries if a list is left at the front desk.
It’s a pet-friendly hotel, she says. “We’ll walk the dog.
“We’ll look after guests while they’re here and while they’re gone as well,” Nestoruk adds.
The 120 suites in the four-storey building include 48 bachelor, 48 one-bedroom and 48 two-bedroom units, says general manager Christopher Vachon. Twenty-six units of all types have fireplaces.
The lobby and reception area, called the Gatehouse, includes a gathering area where a hot breakfast buffet will be served daily and an early evening reception will be held for guests three nights a week. On Wednesdays, Vachon will host the general manager’s dinner. The inn will have an indoor pool and spa and an outdoor sports court as well.
Calgary Airport is the ninth Residence Inn in Canada.
