FP Newspapers Income Fund (TSX:FP.UN) has made some management changes at the Winnipeg Free Press. Bob Cox, editor and interim publisher, becomes publisher of the newspaper. Cox joined the Free Press in 2005 from the Globe and Mail. Margo Goodhand, deputy editor and interim editor, becomes editor of the newspaper. She joined the Free Press in 1991. FP Canadian Newspapers Limited Partnership owns the Winnipeg Free Press, the Brandon Sun and their related businesses, as well as Canstar Community News Ltd. Based in Winnipeg, the businesses employ approximately 630 people.

A week after Russian-based Combine Factory Rostselmash Ltd. acquired 80 per cent of Buhler Industries Inc., the Winnipeg-based farm equipment maker announced new officers from Rostselmash. Dmitry Udras was named chairman, Yury Ryazanov CEO and secretary-treasurer, and Dmitry Lyubimov president and CFO. The company plans to continue selling all the products built by Buhler Industries Inc. Rostselmash is a combine manufacturer in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, that produces more than 17 per cent of the total world output of combines.

Winpak Ltd. (TSX:WPK) has appointed Kenneth Kuchma as VP and CFO effective Jan. 1. Kuchma, a CA, has been employed at Winpak since 1989, most recently as the director of finance and administration at Winpak's largest manufacturing location in Winnipeg. Murray Johnston, the company's current VP and CFO, will be leaving Winpak Ltd. on Dec. 31 to relocate to Vancouver Island. Winpak Ltd. manufactures and distributes packaging materials and related packaging machines. It is based in Winnipeg.

Shore Gold (TSX:SGF) has hired Eric Cline as VP of corporate affairs. Cline practised law in Saskatoon and served in the Saskatchewan legislature from 1991 to 2007. Shore Gold is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. Its head office is in Saskatoon.
