ViRexx Medical Corp. (TSX:VIR), which develops treatments for cancer and hepatitis, has named Lorne Tyrrell as the company's chief executive officer.

Tyrrell replaces Antoine Noujaim, who is on an extended medical leave.

Tyrrell has been chief scientific officer of ViRexx and co-founded the company with Noujaim in 2001.

Doug Gilpin, who is lead director, will assume Noujaim's responsibilities as chairman of the board of directors of ViRexx.

ViRexx is based in Edmonton.

Welton Energy Corp. has appointed David Whiteley to the position of chief financial officer. Prior to joining Welton, Whiteley, a chartered accountant, held senior financial and accounting positions at various public entities.

Aly Musani has agreed to join Triangle Petroleum Corp. and its subsidiaries as CFO effective Nov. 14. He has been working for the past six years in Calgary with an oilfield services firm.

Triangle (OTCBB:TPLM) is a natural gas exploration company developing a resource play in the Deep Basin area of Western Canada. Corporate headquarters are in Calgary.

Premium Petroleum, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PPTL) has appointed Paul Bennett as vice-president of exploration.

Bennett is a senior oil and gas manager and explorationist who spent 31 years of his career with ExxonMobil Canada.

Premium is an emerging junior oil and gas company based in Calgary.

Stealth Ventures Ltd. has added to its management team.

Gary Addison has become VP of exploration. Stealth said Addison has 20 years in the North American oil and gas industry, focused primarily on shale gas exploration and research.

Arden Thompson also will be joining Stealth as manager for its Nova Scotia coalbed methane operations.

A third appointment sees Glenn Yeadon, who has acted as Stealth's corporate counsel for several years, taking on the additional post of corporate secretary. He replaces Raymond Fong, who will remain as a company director.

Daniel Dibbelt is the new executive director of the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC), effective Nov. 14. Dibbelt replaces the late Tom Baldwin.

Dibbelt will be responsible for involving all northern and Aboriginal stakeholders in addressing a wide range of northern issues. He is currently the director of economic development and major projects for Northern Sunrise County.

NADC is a regional development council with a focus on advancing the development of the northern economy.

Matrikon Inc.'s chief executive is stepping down following the company's Dec. 9 annual meeting.

Nizar Somji will be replaced by Amin Rawji, the current president, while Somji will become chairman of the board if he is re-elected as a director at the annual meeting, the Edmonton-based company said.

Somji said in a statement that the time has come to allow others on the company's management team "to take Matrikon to the next level."

Matrikon (TSX:MTK) specializes in industrial solutions for manufacturing plants.

Jim Hill has assumed the position of executive VP of HSE Integrated Ltd.

Hill is opening a regional office for the company in Ontario from which to serve its client base in the east.

Hill has served as a director of HSE since 2003 and will continue to do so. For the past four years he has been CFO of Integrated Production Services Ltd. of Calgary.

HSE (TSXV:HSL) supplies industrial health, safety and environmental services with its head office in Calgary.
