Mineral developer Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. (TSX:BMD) has appointed Joel Jarding as president, chief operating officer and director, effective May 1.

Current president and CEO Doug Rowe will become executive chairman and CEO and will assist in the areas of public market development.

Jarding was most recently business development manager for Baker Hughes Canada, a company he has worked for since 1982.

Based in Calgary, Birch Mountain is developing mineral properties centred in the oilsands area of Alberta.

Eveready Income Fund (TSX:EIS.UN) says John Stevens will be resigning as senior VP and CFO to become president of Northern Crane Services Inc. when his replacement is chosen. Upon Stevens' formal resignation, he will join the board of trustees.

Edmonton-based Eveready provides industrial and oilfield services; safety and environmental services; and oilfield equipment rental services to the energy, resource and manufacturing sectors.

McDonald was most recently VP of land for Grand Banks.

Terry Owen, president and CEO of Trimac Transportation Services Inc., will be leaving Trimac on Dec. 31, 2007 to pursue other interests. It is expected that Jeff McCaig will assume the CEO duties at that time in addition to his current role as chairman of Trimac Transportation.

Owen has been associated with Trimac and predecessor companies in senior executive capacities since June 1994.

Calgary-based Trimac provides bulk trucking services across the country.

OPTI Canada Inc. (TSX:OPC) has appointed David Halford to the position of CFO. Halford brings more than 20 years of financial management focused on the energy industry, most recently as vice-president and CFO at BA Energy.

OPTI is a Calgary-based company developing the fourth oilsands project in Canada in a joint venture with Nexen Inc.

Enerflex Systems Income Fund (TSX:EFX.UN), a supplier of products and services to the global energy sector, says Leonard Cornez has left his positions as VP of finance and CFO of Enerflex Systems Ltd. and Enerflex Holdings General Partner Ltd. to pursue other interests.

Gail Boehm, CA, has been named interim CFO. Boehm has been with Enerflex for 12 years and was most recently controller of the compression and power division.

Headquartered in Calgary, Enerflex has approximately 2,700 employees operating in nine countries.

Russell Tripp, CEO and a director, and Douglas Hibbs, president, have resigned their positions with Bear Ridge Resources Ltd. (TSX:BER) to pursue other opportunities.

The departures come as the company pursues a strategic alternatives process.

Alan Steele, CFO, who joined Bear Ridge in February, has been appointed to the additional role of interim CEO.

Bear Ridge is a Calgary-based exploration and production company operating in B.C. and Alberta.

Sun Media Corp. has promoted Gordon Norrie to the new executive role of senior group publisher responsible for all the company's daily newspaper publishing operations in Edmonton and Calgary.

Norrie joined the Sun organization in 1985 and has served in various positions.

Sun Media, a division of Quebecor Media Inc., is Canada's second-largest newspaper publishing company.

Effective May 10, Roberto Geremia and William Wong become president and CFO/senior VP, respectively, of Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:BEI.UN).

Geremia is currently the senior VP and CFO of the trust. He succeeds Sam Kolias, who will remain full time as Boardwalk's CEO and will become board chairman after the upcoming AGM.

Wong is currently VP and controller of Boardwalk.

Boardwalk REIT is one of Canada's largest owner-operators of multi-family rental communities. Its corporate office is in Calgary.

High Arctic Energy Services Trust (TSX:HWO.UN) has engaged Randy Henderson, president of Henderson Corporate Financial Consulting Inc., as interim CFO. This follows the departure of former CFO Shaun Peesker, who has left the Red Deer-based trust to pursue other interests.

Henderson has been an adviser to the board of High Arctic Energy Corp., administrator of the trust, in examining a strategic restructuring of the trust.

High Arctic, through its subsidiaries, is a global provider of oilfield equipment and services.

Richards is a Calgary-based company involved in the development of crude oil and natural gas, with an emphasis on coalbed methane.
