Arizona Star Resource Corp. says Thomas Dawson has been appointed chief financial officer. He will remain a director but has resigned his positions on the audit committee and the special committee, both of which remain independent from management.

Southwestern Resources Corp. (TSX:SWG) of Vancouver has appointed Timo Jauristo as VP of corporate development.
He was general manager of corporate development for Placer Dome Inc. for the past five years.
He replaces Thomas Beattie, who has been appointed vice-president of corporate affairs.
Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD, AMEX:EGO) has appointed Norman Pitcher as COO and Stephen Juras as manager of geology.
Pitcher was previously VP of exploration and corporate development for Eldorado. Juras was chief geologist with AMEC Americas before joining Eldorado.
Eldorado Gold Corp. is a gold-producing and exploration company.
Protox Therapeutics Inc. appointed chartered accountant Leonard Cox as CFO and vice-president of operations.
Protox has also appointed Kevin McDuffie as vice-president for business development. He was most recently senior manager of business development for Inex Pharmaceuticals Corp.
Protox (TSXV:PRX ) develops therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Rare Element Resources Ltd. (TSXV:RES) has named William Bird president and CEO.
Bird has been a consultant, officer and independent director for a number of publicly traded resource companies including, most recently, International Taurus Resources Inc.
Rare Element is focused on rare-earth metals, which are required by many new technologies.
Xillix Technologies Corp. (TSX:XLX) has appointed Rob Ngungu as vice-president for quality, clinical and regulatory affairs. He has 26 years of experience in quality, clinical and regulatory affairs in the commercialization of Class II and III medical devices, diagnostics and biologics.
Xillix Technologies Corp., based in Richmond, B.C., develops fluorescence endoscopy for improved cancer detection.
Russell Hallbauer has been named president and CEO of Vancouver-based Taseko Mines Ltd. (TSXV:TKO, AMEX:TGB).
Before joining Taseko, he was general manager of base-metal joint ventures at Teck Cominco Ltd.
He takes over as president and CEO of Taseko from Ronald Thiessen, who will remain as co-chairman.
