Mitsubishi Motors Corp. has named Paul Cummings as the new head of its Canadian operations.

Cummings will replace Tony Laframboise, the interim president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc.

Cummings, who comes from Volvo, is the second permanent CEO of the Canadian operation.

Mitsubishi Motor Sales oversees a network of more than 50 vehicle dealerships across Canada.

Drug-maker Patheon Inc. says CFO Ronald Mitchell, who held the post for four years, has resigned from the company to "pursue other interests."

Patheon is conducting an executive search for his replacement and expects to complete this process by the end of October.

Patheon (TSX:PTI), headquartered in Mississauga, provides drug development and manufacturing services for international drug companies.

Serge Darkazanli has retired as chairman and CEO of Menu Foods GenPar Ltd., the company responsible for the day-to-day operations of Menu Foods Income Fund, whose headquarters are in Streetsville.

He will be replaced as CEO by Paul Henderson, the company announced as it split the roles of chairman and CEO.

Henderson has been with Menu for seven years, holding the title of chief operating officer for the past four and president during the past year.

Robert Luba has been appointed non-executive chairman of the board. He is currently chairman of the board of trustees.

Christopher Ragan, an associate professor in the department of economics at McGill University, has been named to the C.D. Howe Institute's monetary policy council (MPC).

The MPC comprises 12 Canadian financial-market and monetary economists. The council provides an independent assessment of the Bank of Canada's moves to achieve its two-per-cent inflation target.

Hill & Knowlton Canada has appointed Jeff Smith as general manager of Hill & Knowlton's Toronto operations.

For the past year, Smith has served as senior vice-president leading the Toronto office's corporate communications and public affairs practices.

Hill & Knowlton Canada is a public affairs and public relations firm. Its parent company, Hill & Knowlton, Inc, is part of WPP Group PLC, one of the world's largest communications services groups.
